passporttofun+ scam, they have been withdrawing $19.95 from my account for 8 months without my knowledge. Internet, Connecticut *EDitor's Suggestion |

Passport To Fun has been billing me $19.95 every month for the past 8 months. I did notice the charge once a couple months back, but I stupidly assumed it was referring was a bus ticket I purchased at the time. I noticed the charge again this morning while viewing my bank account online. It was only then that I did my research and found them to be withdrawing unknowingly from my account for months. They have taken/stolen a total of $159.60 from my account without my knowledge. This is a significant amount of money, especially for a struggling college student. I called the Passport To Fun's toll free number as it was given on my bank statement: 877-651-8514. After canceling my 'membership', I remained on the line to speak with a representative about retrieving my money. The representative I spoke to, Mike, explained that I signed up for a 'Free Trial' of Passport To Fun off some ticket vendor website. (I bought tickets to a hockey game back in the fall). After the free trial ends, apparently they charge the full monthly price unless you cancel your 'membership'. I explained to the representative that if I had signed up for any such thing, I did it unknowingly. I also explained that I never received an email explaining the free trial/membership policy, nor did I receive any benefits from the service. At first, the representative told me that he could not refund the money taken from my account. After some altercation, he agreed to refund their latest $19.95 withdrawal, but that there was nothing he could do about the other 7 months. After yet more altercation, Mike the representative told me he would fill out a 'Refund Report' on my behalf and that I will receive a response by e-mail within 1-5 days. I have a feeling my 'Refund Report' will not get me far, but I am going to do everything I can to fight to get my money back. I was played for a fool. Passport To Fun is clearly a scam, otherwise they would be upfront with their services and membership information. No one should be unknowingly paying a non-refundable monthly fee for a service they weren't even aware they were enrolled in. I am only one of the many people who have been scammed and stolen from by this company. |
