On Feb 24th 2011 we purchased our Keystone Rator 5th wheel from Orangewood RV (owner Mark Treacy) The unit had to inspeced by the service dept. called a PDI. When we came back to pick up the unit on the 28th it was to be 100% ready to go. During the walk through we noted sevral items neding to be address. The biggest we there was no way to access the upper loft. We were told by orangewood that the unit did not come with a ladder period! After serval attents to state my case about a piss poor design and not getting to access the loft they sales manager Darrel came up with a ladder tall enough to be used. However when I asked the service tech. how do we safty use, since there were not any mounts or other divices to hook onto for the ladder to stay in place while in use, he said just lean it against the bed on top of the matteress. I told them that would not work and they refused to do anything else but suggested we call Keystone the manufactorer. They were in a hurry to get us hooked up and off their lot. We drive it home and started looking over our newly purchased second home. When we started finding many things wrongs. Such as a big hole in the bottom of the couch drawer that had been covered up by the box holding the air materess. And the slide in the front bedroom at was at a tilt and didn't seat on the pedistal. Which didn't make much since as Keystone permotes that this unit as an EXTREME Weather Package good for all weather. How does this work when the slide is out and you can see daylight coming through. We also found leaking toitlets, gaueges that didn't work, holes in seat cushions. Minor stracthes throughout. We returned the uint and they made attemts to repiar some and then waited on parts. I came by to get the RV so we could use a couple of weekends while they waited on parts. That was on March 30th after they had it for 2 weeks. 2 weeks later we brought the unit back with a list of some of the items mentioned above for them to repair know. That was on or around April 21rd. The unit sat untouched till the owner Mark Treacy called on May 6th and had a length conversation regarding issuse. At that point they stated working and should have the unit ready in a week or two. On May 23rd I got a call from Orangewood saying that they were still waiting on the seat cushions but the unit was ready. I set an appointment to pickup our unit on June 3rd. when we arrived we opened the door and found to our surprise one of the window blinds had fallen off the wall. We then found the slide repair unexcpetable. it still did not close the gap between the slide and the platform. I can still stick my hand under and can still see the daylight coming through. We left the unit and on June 8th I was told that Keystone was going to look at another unit just like mine back at the plant. On June 9th Josh the service manager called and stated that Keystone wasn't going to allow Orangewood to do many more repairs on the slide. I placed a call to Mark the owner and he setup a confernce call on June 15th between Keystone, Orangewood and me to discuss the issues. This never happened and I now belive that it may not have been scheduled. On the 15th Mark called me to say how sorry he was that Keystone had dropped the ball. He suggested that we may have a lemon and would we consider trading for another unit. We took a deep breath and went back to the dealers lot and after looking around we did find another unit made by Keystone however it too had serval issues and we choose not to go forward sicne Keystone could not resolve the issues on this unit. So we made another appointment to pick up our unit on June 21 it has how been almost 4 months after we purchased, we were shooked when they opening the door and the wood paneling was bubbling and peeling. It never stops! Bottom line Orangewood RV and Keyston sold us a POS and they wil not call us back or try to resolve fixing this unit. I would never buy from either of these businesses again. BUYER beware! |
