OOMA is a fraud, no need to ready any of the other reports: 1. Ooma entices you to sign up for free internet service, whether you buy from Frys, Costco, Walmart, or wherever you buy from is completely irrelevant. YES you must provide a credit card to sign up; I tried every which way to avoid and it cannot be done, the service insists upon it. 2. Once you are into the registration process, you are then hit with the reality mid way through with "your service is free but your credit card will be used to bill the monthly taxes of $3.95 monthly"; so FREE just became "$3.95". 3. Finally, you begin to use the system if you dont run into all of the hassle I had (which is not part of this report). 4. A month or two later you are hit with a bill for $17.95, and it continues monthly! Oh and try to call or communicate with them, its not happening. This is basic bait and switch, and in California its a violation of B&P 17200 and 17500, and numerous basic fraud actions that would be filed with a complaint. This is it! If you bought this product and reading this then you know. If you have not purchased one yet, then take this advice: You can order local basic service for nearly the same price from your local telephone company, without the hassle. Mxxxxx is an OK service, and its $19 per year, not that reliable, but at least they are actually selling what they claim.
