on Feb 4 th 2011 approximately around 10 am i parked my truck at this location on the west side of the building i was hooked to the trailer until about 3am when i could no longer take the noise that was coming from the 2 reefer units on the sides of me, so i unhooked my trailer and locked the kingpin and parked about 100 ft from it in the bobtail lot. When i woke up on the 5th of Feb approx around 12 pm i went to hook back up to my trailer and it was gone. I then proceeded to the manager on duty (WANDA) and asked her what had happened to my trailer she said it was towed away and that there was a policy that no dropped trailers are allowed, well i proceeded to let her know i did not see any signs stating this fact and that i came through the side of the business and that there are no signs stating this policy. and that every truck stop in the country that i have been to have signs clearly marked all over the lot from entrance to exit to the the front of the the entrances to the store and to the back of the lots on the gates. This place had none clearly stating this fact She stated there where signs all over the parking lot and that i was wrong, and that they where all over the lot i walked around the parking lot and found that there where 3 signs and that 2 are located in the front of the area i did not come through and only in 1 other area just outside the main parking lot and to to the right of the entrance to that lot, to which i would never have seen unless i came through the fuel islands, i then explained to the manager this situation and she stated again that there where signs all over i then called the tow company and they told me the cost was $900 to get the trailer out of impound this caused me to have a breakdown to which i have never had. i explained again to the manager at loves that there are no signs in or even around the area i came through telling anyone not to drop trailers. While i was having this breakdown i watched her walk around the back area where i parked the trailer and was still located and then asked her where are the signs she said there used to be signs but Someone must have taken them i asked her if they where big metal signs like the signs in the front when you come in to get fuel she stated yes they where, so i asked her what you are saying is that someone actually took the big signs down that protect and notify drivers of situations like this she did not respond except to say i should have known better then to drop a trailer when signs are clear not to drop a trailer. I have pictures of the only signs that are viable to anyone coming through the fuel islands or through the front entrance to the business to which i did not come through in fact when i did come to this location it was morning rush hour and i was in an outside lane going to the light to get into the parking lot on the other side of the business to park because i did not need fuel or to scale out my load and there where yet again no signs telling me i could not do that either i told the manager this as well she told me that the way i cam in was an exit and that it was clearly marked that i pointed out to her that there again was no signage stating it was an exit either her response was that truckers are going to do what they do. i stated to her no signs of any kind stating exit or entrance outside of the car one are present and that if there where any i would have not come through the way i did to park she told me that the entrance was in the front and that all the trucks come through there to get to the big lot, well i explained to her that there's where the problems are starting for me or anyone else that did not need fuel or to scale i did not need to enter through the front to park and that there was no signage telling me different no signs stating that this was a truck entrance or exit to any part of the property the only sign stating anything like an entrance, was for the cars and not trucks so in my mind i was able to enter anyway deemed to park safely so i did not come through the way trucks would go through to get fuel or to park in the big lot so i went through the lot on the other side where i watched other trucks go through to park. The pictures will show that the only signs where the ones in the front of the entrance i did not use and a very small sign located to the back of the parking lot where if i did happen to go through i would not have seen it either because of its location i am asking that loves redo there signage to reflect all entrances and exits to be clearly marked as well as signage be placed in locations visible to all not in places that loves assumes would be a good location to place signs like in the back where truckers may or may not park as well as in locations that can not be taken down by so called people that want to take signs as well as pain and suffering loss of work and the towing and storage charges incurred due to loves travel centers failure to notify the public about proper procedures involving entrances exits no dropping of trailers etc 02/05/2011 $900.00 estimated towing $1000.00 loss of work due to this situation i had no trailer therefore i was unable to pick up loads $600.00 pain and suffering due to loves and the problems they caused me
