Oceanside Inn and Suites Wedding event disaster! Jekyll Island, Georgia |

The complaint also involves Billing, Refunds, and Service issues. As discussed with Alicia Andrews, my ceremony was supposed to small and intimate. She explained to me that she would "close off" the major portion of the meeting room. Ms. Andrews explained to me that there was a changing facility where tables and chairs are stored. The room was wide open with no way for me to make it into the storage facility or to make a grand entrance without ALL of my guest physically seeing me. And, there was a quite a few ppl walking through our event who were not a part of my wedding. These were ppl who were a part of another meeting, they were dressed in flip flops and shorts and my wedding had to pause and halt. The banquet manager approached me at the end to sign off on the gratuity and tax form. I advised her that I wouldn't sign anything until I spoke to Ms. Andrews. When speaking to her, Ms. Andrews, I advised her that I did not have the funds at the time, but I will bring them back to her the next business day. Nevertheless, as a new bride and groom, we wanted to spend our one night honeymoon in full "Bliss," which is why we chose the Bliss Package at this hotel. The remote to the TV over the bed didn't work. We barely go it to turn the TV on; it would move the volume, the channels nor turn off. The whirlpool spa tub didn't have the full capability of the jets that gives the hydrotherapy. Furthermore, I was very unsatisfied with the service and level of unprofessionalism that this hotel offers. Ms. Andrews gave me a free upgrade and waived the gratuity and taxes. I didn't ask for those services. The free upgrade was provided at the time of the reservation of the meeting room and the gratuity and taxes were waived because Ms. Andrews thought I said that I couldn't afford to pay the additional $20, which she advised me that the price I paid was complete. I asked for half of my money to be refunded because they did not live up to their end of the agreement. Then she, Ms. Andrews, had the nerve to tell me "THE BRIDE" that I should have gone over at 2:00PM and checked everything. I didn't have that kind of time and I trusted that Ms. Andrews did her part as we conversated about it two days prior to my wedding. The place was not cleaned and it had a torn partition that was not visible on the date of reservation, therefore, I had no need to mention it. However, Ms. Andrews left a Christmas tree in the meeting room that was supposed to be removed, again, the torn partition, and a shriveled up tree. If I had prepared my event for 40 to 50 ppl, the even would have been perfect for the set up, which included tables and chairs that we did not ask for and ghosted area where there were chairs and no one sitting in them. I am VERY displeased with this service and I feel that i have been ripped off. |
