Ocean Reef Electronics beware of |

Only two months after I bought this I-pod, it started having problems and now it's completely dead. I contacted Ocean Reef Electronics (I bought it through Amazon) and they said that they only will accept returns for 30 days after purchase. This I-pod was a more expensive replacement I-pod that I purchased from them because the other one CAME defective. It is really unfair that after paying $100 the I-pod only works for a couple of months. "AJ" (the Supervisor I spoke to at Ocean Reef Electronics) kept repeating that he could understand why I was "frustrated" but said it was a "for-profit company" and that they would not make any exceptions. He said if he made an exception for me he would have to make exceptions for "everyone else" but then said that almost all of the people who have bought these refurbished I-pods have no trouble with them, so I don't understand why he mentioned he would "have to make exceptions for everybody." 30 days is way too short for a refurbished, and in this case defective, I-pod. "AJ", along with a woman who answered the phone several times when I tried to get information about the company, refused to give me the name of anyone else I could take my case to. The last time I called I asked if the number I was calling was in Nashville and they said "we're not at liberty to give out that information." I agree with the other filer on this site about Ocean Reef: shame on them AND Amazon for treating customers this way. |

The same thing happened to me. I purchased a refurbished Itouch which quit working after 2 months. I have owned several Apple products in the past and have never had any problems until I purchased one through Ocean Reef. Since it was after their 30 day return time period, neither Ocean Reef or Amazon will do anything. I am extremely frustrated that I spent over $100 on a product that only lasted 2 months. I would not recommend this company to anyone. |
