We purchased a Nordyne Miller heatpump brand new through Black's Supply in Orlando 2 years ago. We have had problems with it almost since the beginning. Living in Florida, we have only used the heat 2 or 3 times but it never worked right. Finally a technician discovered a freon leak. Apparently the coil has a leak in it at the joint and the freon has slowly been leaking out. He said it is a factory defect. While the Nordyne company will furnish the part, the labor and freon is supposed to be our responsibility.Wehave now paid almost $1000 in labor and freon costs.Since this problem is a FACTORY DEFECT ,it came from the factory that way when purchased and The Nordyne company should assume full responsibility for the labor and freon as well. They refuse to do it. Their customer service is HORRIBLE and the reps I have spoken to have been rude. Having been in customer service myself, this is disgusting and unbelieveable to experience treatment such as this. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ANY OF THESE PEOPLE!!! |

We are having the same exact problem with our Nordyne coil, seams they dont believe us about the leak and we should have contacted them sooner. How does one see a freon leak ? Are we supposed to test it . I guess if you own a Nordyne product you should. Our unit is only 2 1/2 years old and we only us it 6-8 month out of the year. Guess we shouldnt hold are breath on that call back. Very disapointing : ( April 2011 |

You stated you understood the warranty in one of your replies. As explained by another, the warranty is quite clear and it is NO DIFFERENT than anyone elses warranty. You can go purchase any other brand you wish but when you read the warranty on basically EVERYONE of them, you will find they are pretty much alike. In fact warranties basically ONLY COVER FACTORY DEFECTS. If any problem arises that is not a factory defect, it does not have to be covered by any manufacturer. That same warranty language applies to bascially everything you buy. Go spend 30, 000 on a new car and the warranty is agains MANUFACTURERS DEFECTS. Go to tampering with it, wreck it, change something on it or whatever and see if they will cover it. I am very familiar with Nordyne equipment and have been installing and servicing them along with many other well known brands for over 40 years now. Like all things there will be problems because they are man made, but I will unequivocally state that Nordyne's equipment has one of the best reputations and is one of the best in the industry...period. They are owned by Watsco, the largest HVAC manufacturer in the country if not the world.
I'm sorry your having problems and are not happy but I'm equally sorry that you felt compelled to try and belittle another responder by accusing them of being accomplices simply because they did not agree with you. |
