My husband came home from the Franklin Mills Mall and said that this Model agency, Nijah approached him and asked if he had any kids and if they were interested in modeling. He knew that I wanted to get my two kids in modeling for a long time, but I just didn't know where to start. So he came home with the phone number to set up appointment. I called and we then set up a time and date. They told me to bring 3 pictures of each child so they can look at them. We got there and at first when I pulled up in the parking lot I didn't get a good vibe. I thought to myself this doesn't look to appealing, but I decided to walk in. I signed in there names. We waited looked at the pictures, listened to the very loud music playing and observed. As we were sitting there a lot more people came in. We were finally called into a room with a girl name Christine. She sat us in the room and was talking about the company and how they have a lot of clients etc. She even said she was a model herself. She looked at our pictures, she also liked both of my kids and felt that they were beautiful and had what it takes to be a model. I felt like she was being truthful and honest with me. She then left the room and said that she will see if my kids were accepted. She gave us a book in the mean time to look at. While we were looking at it she then stepped back into the room and said that they were both accepted. She then started to proceed to inform us the price for the photo shoot and recommended that we went with the 4 to 5 photo shoot for each child. I was a little hesitant and scared of what to think, I have always wanted my kids to do modeling, I was always being approached from people saying how beautiful they were because they were mixed, etc. Christine then started to say the cost and I was still overwhelmed, but I was trusting her which I should have known because she was very quick to take our money and when I sit back and read all these reports I feel it was just their job they were doing. She then had us sign up for the picture shoot in like 2 days and I was surprised because my daughter's forearm/hand was in a cast, I guess so we wouldn't change our mind once We made the payment of 3600.00 dollars for both kids. Everything happened so fast that I didn't have time to even research this company etc... I know you have to pay something to start, but I should have picked up on this. We then came to the photo shoot which didn't seem very professional, I approached Christine about all the negative information that I read and she assured me they were legit and gave me a piece of paper stating that my daughter could have her pictures taken at no extra charge. I could have had my sister use her expensive camera to take some pictures, but they did come out nice when we finally seen them. When the pictures where done on a disc they then called us back for a preview of this. We then got in another room where we reviewed the pictures. The woman was really nice, but again doing their job. She then said that I had to pay $45.00 each for the publishing rights. After talking to her she then brought us to another room to speak with the On-line promotional director. She then proceeded to tell us the advertising part of my kids pictures. We could print a bunch of cards which were like 5.50 a card or we can advertise on line . She then said because I had two kids to advertise she would give a discount and "work with me" for two years of on line viewing I can pay a total of $2000.00 dollars more. So I did sign up since I already went this far plus I was skeptical , but trusting and felt they needed advertising. I then received a phone call for my kids to do the imta in New York that they only do once a year. We went in, but this time I told myself no more money... I don't have it they have taken it already. Now I see the kids on line and I have been watching how many people have been viewing their pictures, but I have yet to receive a phone call for a photo shoot. I signed up in May 17,2011. My gut feeling says that this company is just out to get honest people and will tell anyone what they want to hear to get your $$$$$$. Please if you are thinking of this using Nijah, think twice. I have been taken for a total of $5670.00 and have yet to hear anything........ Still waiting........oh, and by the way the girl Christine that signed us up she left like 3 wks after we signed up,mmmmmm.... Not sure what to do.......
