New York Resident Publications Encompass Media Group Charged Credit Card for Advertising, Did Not Honor Contract, Will Not Refund Charges, Internet |

In June 2011 received a call from one David L., a salesperson for Resident Publications, who promised me a great deal of advertising in several of their magazines, on their web site, and via emails to their subscribers from August 2011 to January 2012. He summarized his proposal in the email below and in a PDF contract attachment to it. Encompass Media Group charged my credit card a total of $2,995 in three transactions from June 23 to July 29. It is now November 3, 2011 and they have provided no proof that they have done any of the things they promised me, when they were supposed to do them. My business is very time-sensitive and I made it very clear when the ads were supposed to run, and David's PDF contract reflected that. Ads that don't run when they are supposed to are worthless to me (and to most businesses). Since September 1, 2011 I have been asking Bill Mason, their VP, and more recently Andrew, their CFO, to either perform according to the contract or refund my money. They have done neither. I have reported them to the NY Attorney General and the NYC BBB. I have registered a domain www.ResidentMediaisaSCAM.com that I will post additional information on how corrupt an organization Resident Publications is.
