Lori and Stephanie, consultants, wrote contract including items we wanted covered, including $328 for extra insurance. They led us to believe they were the sole movers, but referred us to Worldwide Transfer after they collected a deposit of $1,395 with a total contract of $3516.68. Our move was from Kansas to Florida. On 12/20/10 we received a call from a Jeff Warren of Worldwide Transfer saying he had a driver coming to pick up our furniture that day. When the driver arrived in a 26 ft. Ryder truck, he presented us with a contract for $2300. I said I'm not signing another contract until I contact Nationwide which was the next day (Monday). I called to talk with Lori or Stephanie and was RUDELY refused and had to talk with the dispatcher who told us Nationwide was just the broker. The Worldwide driver returned the next day with helpers from Labor Finders and they worked until 1:00a.m. trying to get all our furniture on that small truck, all the while calling Jeff Warren. They had a verbal fight using bad language including the "f" word. I told them to put the rest of our furniture in our garage and we would resolve the problem the next day. We were instructed to rent a U-Haul truck to store the rest of our furniture in U-Haul and it would be delivered on 12/31. The driver took the keys and delivered some of our furniture as we drove our car. We called to see if our furniture was coming on 12/31 and on we were lied to on four dates of delivery, each time Jeff Warren yelled and went into a rage for no reason. The driver was supposed to overnight the keys to U-Haul but didn't. We got tickets and flew to Kansas and rented a U-Haul and drove our own furniture back (a month later.) We've never heard from Nationwide nor Worldwide since. Now the insurance company said they have not done business with either company for over a year because they never paid their bills nor answered their phones. Now we have damaged furniture and ended up paying a total of $5400 and had to drive the stored furniture ourselves to Florida. PLEASE DO NOT USE NATIONWIDE MOVING OR WORLDWIDE TRANSFER! THEY ARE FRAUDULENT! Has anyone had a situation like this and what was your recourse? |
