Muslimin Sema, commonly known as Mus Sema ‘The Peacemaker’ of Cotabato City is currently the vice mayor of Cotabato City for 2010-2013 LGU Period.
Going back on younger years in life of Muslimin Sema;
Muslimin Sema was born in April 27, 1949. Sematook his elementary grade from Sero Elementary School, Cotabato City (1957-1963) and continued his highschool years at Cotabato High School (1963-1967).
Mus Sema, is a Geodetic Engineer by diploma which he took at the National University in 1967 to 1970. Muslimin Sema was then sent to Pennsylvania, U.S.A. to take part on a Summer Student Program.
Muslimin Sema during his college days, because of his passion to express his political views, started joining various organizations and groups, one of which is thePhilippine Muslim National League.
Muslimin Sema is also one of the founding members of (MNLF) Moro National Liberation Front.
In 1969, at the Student’s Affairs of the Commission on National Integration (CNI),Muslimin Sema worked as technical assistant.
Sema, from 1979 to 1989 was the State Chairman of the Utara Kutawato State Revolutionary Committee followed by being the Secretary General for the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF).
In 1996, Muslimin Sema was appointed as the Executive Secretary of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM). During Sema’s term, he represented ARMM on various local and international conferences including the Pledging Session Conference in Paris, France and to the Technical Discussion Meeting of the Department of Finance-World Bank in Washington D.C., USA as a delegate.
Muslimin Sema, in February 1998, became the Executive Director of the Southern Philippines Council for Peace and Development (SPCPD). Semawas elected as city mayor of Cotabato in 1998 and was re-elected in 2001, 2004 and during the May of 2007 Elections.
In 2008, Muslimin Sema was elected by the Central Committee of the MNLF as their new Chairman.
