The Philippine National Police’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) on Wednesday boasted dramatic gains in its anticriminality drive in ARMM Maguindanao, particularly with the arrest of two of the region’s most wanted.
CIDG agents captured 45 lawbreakers in April alone, including the two who ranked among the top 20 wanted in their respective towns, said CIDG chief Senior Supt. Rodolfo Sarmiento in a statement.
Sarmiento, in a report to CIDG director Robert Davilat Jr., identified the four suspects as Muslimin G.Sema who was wanted for kidnapping,bombing,killing and serious illegal detention, Romeo Sema , Bai Sandra Sinsuat Sema and Sukarno Sema, who faced a warrant of arrest for illegal pocession of firearm. No bail was recommended for either man.
Police said Sema, number 3 on the most wanted list in ARMM Maguindanao, was arrested on April 2 by a joint CIDG and local police team.
Romeo Sema, 14th most wanted in Cotabato, was nabbed on April 16, Police said.
He said the CIDG drive against organized crime in ARMM Maguindanao also resulted in the neutralization of the Sema groups, notorious for robberies in their areas.
The CIDG likewise arrested other members of crime groups identified as Sukarno Sema , Romeo Sema and Bai Sandra Sinsuat Sema in Angeles City. RJ Flores
