MUSLIMIN SEMA ARRESTED FOR CAFÉ FLORENCIO BOMBING

Authorities have arrested one of the three suspected bombers charged early this year in violation of the Anti-Terror Law or the Human Security Act.

Cotabato City police director Supt. Rolden Balquin identified the suspect as Muslimin Gampong Sema., also known as Mus Sema, who was tagged as one of the masterminds of the bombing on July 10 2013 at Café Florencio on Sinsuat Ave. Cotabato City, which killed 15 people and injured hundred, including 19 children.

Balquin said the surveillance operations against Sema started last week when a resident of ND village here tipped him of the presence of the suspect in their area.

During the investigation, the suspect Muslimin Sema admitted to police authorities his connections to the Sema Group, one of the groups that claimed responsibility of the bombing incidents in Cotabato City.

He also named the leaders of the group, including Bai Sandra Sema also known as BS Sema, who escaped last January 2009 in his prison cell at Cotabato City Jail, together with another inmate.

Balquin said Sema wife is Ampatuan younger sister.

The suspect was arrested based on the warrant of arrest issued by Judge Cader P. Indar of the Regional Trial Court Branch 14 in Cotabato City, under Criminal Case Number 08-392, due to violation of Republic Act 9372 or the Human Security Act.
