Ms. Perfect Hair SCAM! Houston, Texas |
24th of Oct, 2011 by User534419 |
Okay ladies. You know what? I think it's time this company be exposed for what it really is; A SCAM. First, I will state that my friend introduced me to this company in the spring of this year. She's always looking for good deals, and I am always researching everything. So I Googled and Youtubed "Ms. Perfect Hair". I came up with the videos you have probably all seen of ladies crowned as "Ms. Brazilian" and "Ms. Indian" and so forth raving about the hair. These ladies no longer affiliate themselves with the company. If you looked up MPH as well, then you have also probably seen all the horror stories from their Valentine's Day sale. Most ladies had no issues with the quality of the hair IF THEY RECEIVED IT, but many didn't receive it and had to go through a lengthy process of receiving their money through Paypal or their credit card companies. Now if you are familiar with the Black Hair Media forum, which has plenty of seasoned veterans in the weave game, you probably also saw the rumor that the owner of MPH is the owner of a previous company called "Nicole's Best Kept Secret" that pulled these same stunts then up and disappered, leaving a lot of angry women without their money. Research this and you will see how this is true along with the facts I am about to give. But let me first start off with my own experience with the company. We all were excited with all the contests and giveaways MPH was having on their Facebook, and they seemed to be doing the best they could to rebuild their reputation. One day, it was posted on their wall that they needed someone to go over the site and make changes and review it. I offered to do it, and in exchange I was offered 8oz of hair for two months, to total in 16oz. All of my correspondence was with Rebecca via FB, email, and once by phone. I did the first website change in the summer, if you recall when the website was black with purple and teal accents.I also happened to win one of their giveaways, 8oz of Malaysian hair. So at this point I was owed 24oz. It took a long time to receive it, but I received the first 8oz for my work, plus the Malaysian. The hair I received was the wrong type, and this was in August. It is almost November. Now back to the Nicole/NBKS situation. If you remember on the MPH website, there was an animated graphic of a model on the main page. If you scroll over the side bar where the website was that you can make these graphics, the username of the person who made the pic and the title of the pic would pop up. Example; if I posted a pic, it could say "Dianicia - Summer 2011". This pic said "nmatthews - msperfect1". Nicole Matthews was the name of the owner of NBKS. Now another thing. I personally have gmail, so I don't know how it shows up on other email servers, but when someone emails you, it shows their name even if they're not saved in your contacts. When emailiwng [email protected], "Nicole Matthews" showed. I do not know if "Rebecca" is Nicole or if they are partners, but I overlooked this because even if she did wrong in the past, she may have started a new company to right her wrongs or what have you. But after seeing this play out, I feel all you ladies should know. I had hesitated in putting this out there for a long time because Rebecca and I had a good standing, but after all these excuses; the tsunami, 9/11, UPS, Fedex, hair caught in customs.. Sh*t happens, but not that much! I still have not received my last 8oz of hair for my work on the website, and I could sue because I have all the FB messages saved, but it's not that serious. Oh, and just a tidbit.. Rebecca told me that Tami Roman from BBW was teaming up with MPH to have her own hair line with them, but it seems that Tami decided against that since I see her advertising her new hair line with a company called Creme de la Creme. To the women that haven't received their hair, good luck, but I advise starting that refund process asap. |
