Monster X Camp
Monster X Camp Larry Clay MONEY HUNGRY BUSINESS- THEY WILL STEAL FROM YOU Grapevine, Texas
8th of Mar, 2011 by User159486
So i signed up with Monster X Camp and they immediately make you sign a 12 month contract but they tell you that it is month to month and that is the only contract they use, that you can cancel at any time with a 60 day notice. They of course pretend that you are family and they are a small business just trying to spread the love of kickboxing and they would never screw you over, well this is a TOTAL lie, I tried to give my 60 day notice because they didnt even have classes that fit with my schedule but they would ignore my calls and never returned my voicemails! Coach Larry Clay saves your phone number so that he doesnt have to answer if he knows that you are calling to cancel. So i verbally gave my notice of cancellation notice but they still charged me every month for 6 months after i tried to cancel with them ($180 a month!), I finally have a chance to go to the gym and Coach Clay is like oh yea just write a cancellation notice on this blank piece of paper and i will cancel your membership, well guess what his company is still trying to charge me and now Coach Clay is calling ME a LIER stating that he NEVER said you could cancel at any time and that i signed up for a 12 month contract with him, at one point he just started talking really loud over what i was saying just calling me a liar when i tried to remind him what he had told us in the beginning. When i got off the phone with this guy i was in tears! How is he even allowed to operate his business like that when he treats his customers like that. I am so angry that this
man who also has his own Christian blog can treat people in this insulting manner and LIE so naturally. I have now done some research and I wish i would have found this before i ever joined that awful place.
Check out the Bullshido blog about him before you even THINK about joining Monster X Camp with Coach Larry Clay. I wouldnt want ANYONE to experience what i did or be insulted and belittled by this man.

Rebuttal to Vanessa Botello,

Below is what I posted on one of three other websites that Ms. Botello put this same "complaint" on. I actually copied and pasted both of her previous complaints as there are even discrepancies between the two of them, AND this one. On the other sites I was able to upload a picture of the qoute and rate sheet that clearly shows Ms. Botello was furthermore offered a month to month. This is a hoax of someone who obviously flies off the handle when she does not get exactly what she wants regardless of the policies and procedures that she signed her name too. I might add, we have had MANY people (well over 60 or so) that have cancelled with no problem. If someone can't train, or afford it anymore, we understand that. The BBB was contacted as well and they dropped the issue as it was clear what was going on. Someday Ms. Botello will stop posting this type of report and remove her previous posts, as she will figure out that she is consistently making herself look like a fool.

Below are Ms. Botello's first posts on two different pages (in discrepancy of one another) and my reply to those posts.

This is basically a hoax and a cutomer that we unfortunately tried to help out by even allowing her to freeze her account. I am posting mer complaint to the BBB as well, as there are even inconsistencies and discrepencies between her two reports. I am copying her original post and posting it on here as well just in case she tries to change it.

From Vanessa Botello to the BBB:
"In March of 2010, Coach Larry Clay purposely lied about his contracts, when we were asked to join he stated that he did not have month to month contracts on hand and that we had to sign a contact that was for 12 months which would be honored as month to month contracts. Coach Clay stated that we could cancel at anytime and that he could freeze our account up to 4 months because we told him we would not want 12 months since we would be buying a house in the summer and may have to stop going to to they gym or paying for a gym membership. When we bought our house in July 2010 we tried to freeze our account several times, he only freezed the account for 1-2 months and then started to charge us again. We repeatedly tried to cancel but he would avoid our calls, I had to try calling him from different phone numbers to get him to answer. We were finally able to go to his facility the first week of January 2011 and he asked for a written notice. He stated our last payment would be February 2011 (even though he had been charging us for services since July 2010 and we had not even attended any classes). We wrote our cancellation notice specifically stating he would not be charging us anymore after February 2011 and handed the notice to him. In March 2011, I began receiving calls from his billing office Member Solutions requesting payment for services for March 2011, I explained the situation but they let me know I would need to contact Coach Clay. I again tried to contact him and finally got a hold of him on March 9, 2011- I explained the situation and he quickly dismissed my requests and began to deny any of his previous agreements, and also began to insult me. Currently Monster X Camp has debited $1, 260.00 from my account without providing a single service to me and is still requesting an additional $180.00. I am not sure how many other people he has scammed, but he must be stopped. I am also requesting that he refund my account the $1260.00 he debited my account for not providing any services.

Desired Settlement

$1, 260.00 and for the additional charge of $180.00 to be dismissed. "

Below is my reply to the BBB:
"This is a report Ms. Botello did on ripoff report about us. The first thing you will notice is there is a discrepancy about Month to month agreements. On ripoff report she says we had her sign an agreement saying it was a month to month yet it was actually a 12 month. On the complaint to you she says We have no month to month agreements and she would have to sign a 12 month. Attached is a picture of the Qoute sheet I have used for LITERALLY over 13 years of business. You will see that it shows an option for a 12 month and month to month agreements which are BOTH obviously available. My questions would be why would we require a 60 notice on a month to month agreement if she paid for her “first and last month” already? For the 12 month program, we take down the 1st and 12th month of the contract, and will allow people who are in good standing to cancel with a 60 day notice. The agreement she signed in fact says there is no cancellation and furthermore that no refunds will be given. Our cancellation amendment/agreement states that they may make no defamatory remarks about the facility instructors, owners, etc. and that they are cancelling in good standing with us. She has already crossed those lines and because of that, the courtesy of a cancellation will not be extended to her or her boyfriend Juan (also on the agreement I believe). Below is Ms. Botello’s statement from ripoff report, with the actual link underneath it.

This is defamatory and a hoax, and if I hear of any problems that arise from either of these postings to you or from the “ripoff report”, I hope Ms. Botello has a good attorney."
