Monolith Media Group Deceptive and Unethical Hiring Practices Las Vegas, Nevada |

Monolith Media Group falsely advertises a six figure income by running "pre-set appointments to sell national cooperative advertising." The concept of selling cooperative advertising to an untapped vertical market on the national stage would be very promising; however, Wayne Lambert (the Southeast Regional Manager) could not deliver what he promised me (and several other "account managers") during my "interview" for an independent contractor position. I was given nothing but excuse after excuse why day in and day out I had no appointments set... The advertisement of "pre-set appointments" - the selling point for me as the company offers no salary, benefits, or advancement potential to its sales force - proved to be nothing but a farce. I begged for "leads" from the company for two weeks without a single appointment ever being set, which is a clear breach of my contract with Monolith Media Group. I was promised between 2-5 appointments per day (averaging 4.) I was also told that I could self generate/cold call as well - but that was at my sole discretion. I told Wayne Lambert that if I had to generate my own leads, I'd prefer to work for a company with a base salary supporting the cold calling effort. He assured me day in and day out that he would take care of the situation and apologized more than once for not having everything in order. As of yesterday evening, neither Wayne Lambert nor Amy Maxwell, the "appointment setter's manager," would answer or return my phone calls. Apparently, I upset them with my email wherein I stated, "Amy is full of excuses and wants to tell me about all the new people she's attempting to hire. I don't mean to be rude - but I don't care. I will not put up with any more stalls or excuses - I want results." In a follow-up email to Wayne (as, again, he would not answer or return my phone calls) I wrote, "Nobody is holding my 'appointment setters'/'business coordinators' accountable by any measurable standard; and when I have the audacity to demand results instead of excuses, I'm told to 'never call this number again'." This morning I was emailed, "As of today, your service is no longer needed. I will have you removed from the company server. Wish you well for the future." No phone call. No explanation. No apology for breaching my contract or wasting my time. Nothing… To date, Monolith Media Group has collected several hundred thousand dollars pre-selling "national advertising" for local real estate agents. Not a single client has enjoyed a return on their investment yet; however, Nick Rogan (the owner and president of the company) had the audacity to tell me on a conference call with Wayne Lambert that "we (Monolith Media Group) don't need you - you need us." During that conference call, Wayne defended his actions by falsely accusing me of creating a "hostile working environment" for the appointment setters. Nick did not allow me the professional courtesy of attempting to defend myself (however, each of the appointment setters - who have all since quit - went on record to dispute everything Wayne claimed.) I was given the opportunity to "prove myself" to the company by self-generating a sale to be reinstated. I tried to call Wayne after the conference call to discuss his unfounded accusations and defamation of my character, but yet again he refused to answer/return my call. He did email me, "I am not going to discuss anything else until you show me you can sell." That, however, was an unacceptable alternative for me. That was not what Monolith Media Group contractually obligated themselves to; and in fact, as Wayne would receive an override on any of my sales, I viewed his "demand" as pure extortion. A couple of hours after my contract was illegally terminated, Wayne Lambert posted additional advertisements for employment in my territory and is still mischaracterizing and misrepresenting the "opportunity." Job Description: "Account Managers is responsible for running pre-set appointments for Sales Meetings." -Not only is that grammatically incorrect, it's a gross mischaracterization and misrepresentation of what is really required... "Appointment Setter is responsible scheduling sales appointments (easy to do) daily for sales reps. 20-25 calls daily to make this happen!" - again, that is grammatically incorrect; and if it's "easy to do," why did I go two weeks without an appointment? "You will make 1k-4k depending on how many reps you support (typically 2)." - Come on? How ludicrous! Amy told me it's Wayne's intention to get two appointment setters for every single account manager - not the other way around! I expect honest advertisements from someone professing to be a "minister"! I caution anyone interested in accepting an independent contractor position for Monolith Media Group under Nick Rogan and Wayne Lambert (especially) to seriously weigh their options. It may be a good "fit" for you; but understand going into it that Nick Rogan has no experience running a national company or sales and marketing organization like what he's trying to put together. Similarly, Wayne Lambert proved to me that he is a "novice" in this arena as well... 50% of his sales force is turning over every week. |

Monolith Media Group dba "thetopagent.com" has targeted Realtors in Virginia & North Carolina selling them tens of thousands of dollars worth of co-op TV advertising in 2011. However, as of today, we have not seen 1 TV ad, nor a TV schedule, or 1 lead generated from this marketing plan. We feel this is a marketing scam that has taken tens of thousands of dollars without any intension of providing the service we paid for. |
