Initially, this looks silly, but the the damage was serious enough that I had to get medical attention, and am on antibiotics for a week 4 days ago I went in for regular cut/color appt with regular salon. The stylist also encouraged me to try some glue in colored extensions, just for a bit of fun. These were to last 4 weeks After my color was done processing, the stylist rinsed my hair, and it hurt. I remarked that it was painful and she indicated it was because the color had tea tree oil in it, and that made it tingle. I'm not a stylist, so that seemed plausible. As she dried my hair, it hurt. Bad. I winced away, and she said her hairdryer was hot, and she squirted my scalp with cold water. She dried my hair, glued in the colored pieces, and gave me a hair cut. After she finished, I noticed an odd tint to my hair, and mentioned that it was very spotty, and uneven. She said it was the light reflecting off the mirror, and that my hair looked great. The haircut was a disaster, I told her so, then the salon owner came in, arguing that the cut was perfect, it was just laying funny. I needed to pick up my child from school so I had no time to debate. I paid them ($340) and left. After picking my son up and arriving home, I looked in the mirror, and the color was awful And all the extension pieces had fallen out, leaving the glue in my hair. Plus, my scalp was very sensitive . I contacted the stylist, and she said she would fix the color the following week, and that my scalp probably hurt from the glue. Next morning I had very persistent pain on scalp, I was forced to wash hair with cold water. Inspection of scalp showed scabs, angry blisters, and redness. I left a message for salon at 7 am. The stylist sent a series of text messages with various options for extensions, but that's it. I called the salon again at 3:45, and the stylist yelled at me for interrupting her when she had a client. 4pm the salon owner called, said she was willing to refund me for the extensions and would mail me a check for 50 dollars. I told her that was the least of my concerns, she said that's all she could do. I took a day off from work to go to a dermatologist yesterday, who confirmed that what I had was not an allergic reaction, but a chemical burn. Likely the salon mixed the color incorrectly. I was given a prescription topical pain killer, and some ointment for the burns. Total out of pocket expense was 180 I also had a consultation with a spa that specializes in color corrections. They outlined a plan for repair. This involves 2 sessions with colorist, and some heavy conditioning service. I was given a price breakdown of 370 for these services. My costs to repair the damage for all this will be over 600 dollars, and that is not including the oils and such I've had to purchase now to repair my hair. Or, the hats I had to buy to cover my head for the next few weeks until it is healed and I can get it corrected So, the Salon owner Monica McDavid Forshage refused to address the problem. They were negligent with the color product, and the stylist herself was distracted while working on my hair, taking several phone calls, and she left the color on about 2 times as long as she should have Salon owner gives me option of 50 bucks, or she fixes it in her salon. The damage is such that I am unwilling to risk it. She says she won't pay for me to go elsewhere, then said "and I'm not giving you a dime!" And hung up Even if she refunded me in full for the service that caused the damage, I still have the medical expense, and the corrective expense, those well outnumber the total I'd paid her Also, given her bizarre, attacking behavior over this, I did review her business on Yelp, Google and Salonfinder. All I wrote was how much the service cost and an outline of the events that followed such as loosing extensions, burns, bad color ect The sites also offer reviewers the option to share photos So I loaded pictures of my hair, and scalp The salon owner Monica McDavid Forshage is furious with me? My friend went to her when she was running her salon in her shack of a house that was full of nasty sick rats. They were so sick they lost all their hair too like me! Monica McDavid Forshage must have practices on them!
