I have recently purchased a home. Prior to close a roof repair was made. The sellers insurance covered the replacement because of hail damage. Monarch Roofing Systems LLC 2125 S 48th St, Suite 107, Tempe, AZ 85282 (602) 426-0315 ROC#266271 ROC#253807 was chosen to do the work because of their preferred provider status with the insurance company. A conversation with the project manager, Jonathan, took place before the work was executed. He informed us that to do the repair up to code standards that the sheathing had to also be replaced and that a request was made to the insurance company. After completion of the roof and close of the home sale I discovered that the sheathing was not replaced. I contacted Monarch Roofing and again spoke with Jonathan. I informed him that 1) the sheathing was not replaced 2) that the existing sheathing was further damaged and 3) that a single piece that was replaced was cut too small and left an exposed gap. He informed me that the insurance denied replacement of the sheathing and the sellers signed some sort of document. I requested a copy or explanation of such document. I also asked him to repair the damaged caused by his work crew and document the condition of the roof so that I could be assured that the five years no leak warranty would be upheld. His response was that I could do nothing about any of it because there was no code for the city of Scottsdale. I continued to call the company for a week afterward. Eventually I was informed that Bill Ring, the quality control officer, would be contacting me for an inspection. Bill did contact me in a timely manner and came to inspect the work. He verified that the single repair made was done incorrectly (cut too short leaving an exposed gap) and that they should be out to fix it. He also stated that the five years no leak warranty would be in place and upheld. I again requested a copy or explanation of the document signed by the sellers. He said that the owner would need to produce this document. The next week I was contacted by the owner of the company. He said they were not going to do anything. I stated that his companies quality control officer admitted that at least one area should be repaired. He said he would talk with him and hung up on me. I waited a week for him to respond and started to file official complaints. |
