Mod Pilot
Mod Pilot Make Mortgage Right Thief, Lier and Cheat Carlsbad , California

On 3/16/2001 I was contacted via email by a company called Mod Pilot. They are a company that says they can help with loan modifications. I did an internet search on them and found that they had received a few complaints and almost all had been resolved. I decided to call them to see how they could help me. Like a lot of people my home is now worth less then half of what I owe. I am disabled and on a fixed income and I struggle to keep my bills paid. I spoke to Scott Hillier at Mod Pilot. I informed him that I had received application forms from my lender and that I was applying for a loan modification under President Obamas Make Homes Affordable program. Scott told me that since I was not behind on payments that I was applying for the wrong program and not to send in the application. He said they would help me apply for the right program. He led me through their website to convince me that they were a legitimate and reliable company. I was told that for $1995.00 I would get the help of a qualified personal consultant that would put together a package specific to my situation and the they would be there to help me through the entire process and that I would not succeed on my own. Scott told me that I would receive a CD with forms that I could fill out a booklet telling me what I needed to do. I informed Scott at that time that I had a MAC computer. He told me that I would get a CD that was formated for a MAC. So I purchased the program. I got a call the next day from my assigned consultant, Kindra Garringer. She told me she was putting my package together and she would send it out on 3/18/11. I received their package on 3/21/11. What I got was a CD that was for a PC not a MAC and generic booklet of information. The CD was useless and the information in the booklet did not address my specific situation. I sent Kindra an email explaining what I had received and told her I would be calling her on 3/22/11. I called her as stated and had to leave a voice message. I waited for her to return my call. She didnt respond to my email or my phone call. I called again on 3/24/11 and after a run around I finally got to speak to her. During our conversation she told me that they did not have a CD for a MAC and that I was applying for the right program and Scott did not know what he was talking about. I felt I had been lied to and I was not satisfied with the material I received. I told her that I wanted to return the material under their 14 day money back guarantee and asked her for an RA# (Return Authorization Number) as stated in their material and on their website. She said that she would put in a request and I would here back from her in 24 hrs. That seemed a little strange but what could I do. After two days with no response I started calling. Nothing but a run around. So I sent an email to the supposed owner Matthew Smith on 3/28/11 informing him of the situation. The email was forwarded to Kindra Garringer and Paul Jacobson her supervisor and supposed lawyer. Kindra responded telling me that Paul had to issue the RA# and that he would contact me that day with the information I needed. He never did. On 3/29/11 I sent a reply email to Matt Smith and informed him that he had until 3/31/11 to respond and give me a RA# so I could return the material or I would go public. No response. After further investigation on the internet I found out that Paul Stephen Jacobson is a lawyer and is operating an office out of the same address as Mod Pilot. The address is 3168 Lionshead Ave. Carlsbad, CA 92010. There phone # is 888-242-1444 or 760-543-0200. website: www.modpilot.com pull it up and click on contact us to see their shipping and return policies. I believe that Paul Stephen Jacobson is operating Mod Pilot using the name Matthew Smith as a front.
Its hard to believe that a person would go to law school and put in all that hard work, take an oath to up hold the law only to go into business scamming people and steeling their money. I have put together this report using the names and addresses of the people that I have been dealing with at Mod Pilot so others that are contacted by them know how dishonest they are. Dont do any business with Mod Pilot or any other company or lawyers that claim they can help you get a Loan Modification. Do it yourself. All the information you need is on the internet. I will keep fighting until I get my money back.

This guy is seriously a loony and is just making stuff up. Matt Smith is the owner as anyone can verify on the BBB by looking up Modpilot and Paul is an attorney working here and helping people to fight the banksters from stealing all our houses!

well i have had a really unpleasant experience with mod pilot also. My experience started in July and the first person who was assigned to me was good until i got a email saying she was no longer with the company. The person helping me now Kelly has never contacted me, i always have to call her and of course leave a messge and a few days later she calls. i have not spoken to her in months. I feel i have made a big mistake because all they really do is send you the cd and book but for the money they charge they are definately ripping people off. that is what our society has come down to. dishonest ripoff SOB who take advantage of others. What goes around comes around and it will for them one way or another. I did check them out and i felt they were legit but i was mistaken. So anyone who is thinking that they are going to help you just think again and do the work yourself even if you need to do it over and over again. i am on my third time because BofA decided to sell my loan and now i am having to go throught the whole thing once again. They said there are all different programs to apply for but i soon found out there is only one being offerend throught Making homes affordable program. So here we are. If my loan does pass i give myself the credit for hanging in there and dealing with these Financial institutions.. MY ADVISE IS DO IT YOURSELF...GOOD LUCH

Beware! They will say anything to convince you they are legit...Take you to the BBB to check out Providers Financial...oooh, A+ rating! But wait, they are really, modpilot...C- rating? Hmmm...what's up with that?! Now read the complaints about modpilot. Oh, they also promise you a full refund, but after you sign up the rules change. If you're smart like me...you will get your money back, but if not, don't say I didn't warn you.

These people will take your money and run! Don't give them a dime! Contact MakingHomesAffordable.com They are honest and will help you FREE of charge! To make a long story short, I was not eligible for the government programs due to the cut off dates when the mortgage was initiated for bothe the HAMP and HARP programss. The banks will find any excuse not to put you in their own programs. Modpilot tried to take me for a ride anyway. Practically guaranteeing me a positive outcome. They did not disclose these cut off dates and told me I was an excellent candidate. I further investigated and realized I was lied to and cancelled my order immediately. They did not refund my credit card as promised, however, I was able to dispute the charge through my credit card company. Good Luck!

my problems started with mod pilot in august of 2011. I signed up and within 4 hours realized i did not want their program and cancelled via e mail and phone message. I realized all they would do is send a "how to" package that the loan company would send for free. I could not get any one to answer or return my calls. I had my crdit card co reverse the $1313.00 charge. they still sent me a package whch i immediately gave back to the mailman. I heard nothng and then yesterday received a package from them (7-5th, 2012) nearly a year later. In checking my bank account it appears they gave me acredit then mod pilot charged my card again about a month later. Unfortunately i did not catch that charge until just now. They guarantee satisfaction and results=i've yet to get my refund!!! any suggestions?
