On April 25, 2011 we were charged $523.95 from AGS 218219069992 Prescott Valley, AZ., (The Mileage Shop). We read online of their claims and had talked by telephone to people at the Mileage Shop at 928-772-6600 who told us we should expect a 20% to 40% improvement in gas mileage with the use of their hydrogen generator. At their recommendation we purchased the higher capacity of the two known as The Mileage Saver double cell. They told me installation was not an issue and would only take about 30 minutes to install on my vehicle, the unit was easy and inexpensive to operate and they had personal experience with the benefits in their own vehicles, in particular they referred to a Chevy 2500 diesel but worked just as well on gas or diesel. To the contrary it took about ten man hours to fabricate special brackets to install, and upon completion on May 6, three employees and myself used a speaker phone and spoke with Chris at the Mileage Shop. We all found him somewhat sarcastic when he told us we had not followed the owners manuals mixing procedure correctly for the double unit but it was a very minor variation. Please note that when we called back the next time we were told that the owners manual was no longer current and needed to be updated. That was our first clue to the dog and pony show that has occurred since. Every time we call we get different recommendations about how to mix or what amperage to try to achieve and that every vehicle is different and you will just have to keep trying until you find the sweet spot for your vehicle. We have used a number of different strengths of mix giving us different amps, we have called and talked, we have cleaned and recalibrated spent a lot of time with gallon jugs of distilled water and turkey basters, and now the amp gauge is broken and the generator is leaking. The unit has not been abused or damaged by us. We have followed their suggestions for record keeping and to check for leaks but have seen no benefit other than maybe one time a 10% increase in gas mileage and that could easily have been due to different weather conditions, driving conditions or blend of gas from the pump. We have contacted them to return the unit for a full credit and they tell us that they can only repair or replace the unit and that their only real claim is that the unit will produce hydrogen gas and nothing more. This farming operation has qualified employees that maintain and operate approximately 40 pieces of diesel, gas, LP gas, and natural gas equipment. Like the rest of America we are desperate to save on fuel, but the Mileage Shop is nothing but a scam shop who now says their only claim is that it will produce hydrogen gas. Do not buy this product it is a scam and you can not get a refund. |
