Micronet Systems Inc. is THE WORST small business IT employer in the Boise area.
http://www.micronet-systems.com It is a small company, owned by a husband and wife; Alan and Megan Queen. The company entices talented IT professionals to work for them, thru promises of good compensation and training opportunities. The horror show begins once they begin working. People generally last 3 months working at Micronet, sometimes less. The only long term employee with tenure is an un-educated Network Engineer that is an Ex-Marine. Alan is also an Ex-Marine, so you can guess who is talking care of their own. Megan is completely un-technical and sits at the front desk listening to her credit card balance on the company speaker phone. Company payroll is also done out of Megan and Alan's personal checking account. It is a bad, bad deal. If Megan decides she doesn't like you, she will whisper in Alan's ear who will proceed to find a way to let you go. The company is very un-ethical in its business dealings with customers. For example, the State of Idaho gives a preferential treatment to the awarding of IT contracts for women and minorities. Interestingly, the company is registered under Megan's name to make sure they gain the contract with the State of Idaho. In reality, Megan does nothing worthwhile at the company, and sits on her butt all day in the front playing incompetent manager. Alan flat out lies and deceives employees when it comes to compensation. He will promise higher pay rates and increased training "down the road". NONE OF IT ever materializes. I know a person that was a tech at a local computer shop that Allan hired as a network technician. He kept him at his same rate of pay he was getting at the local shop, and promptly let him go after the 3 month time frame. The IT professional community in Boise is a tight group, and there are 6 of us right now that have been burned by Alan and Megan. 3 of the folks had families and mortgages when Alan coldly pulled the rug out from under them. If you are an IT Professional or Network Engineer in the Boise area, RUN don't walk away from Micronet Systems and Allan Queen. Dont believe A WORD of anything that comes out of Alan or Megans mouth. |

I am Alan Queen. Whoever posted this is a liar, and if actually terminated, was incompetent or failed a drug test. Our current shortest term employee has been here 3 years (not months!) Payroll is not done from my personal account, but from a Micronet Systems account. Stop by, I'll prove it with years (22) of documentation. We do NOT have any state contracts and have never sought any preferences.
Name the 6 people! Better yet, your name. If you were terminated, you had at least 3 previous warnings. It is however true that we employ professionals who can do the work. We provide customer results and slacker/wannabe techs cannot make it in this environment. And, yes your pay will goes up with your performance, it will not go up if you cannot do the work.
The only long term ex-Marine employee left about 8 years ago. I hired him right after his service. He worked for me for more than 6 years, he was very capable, and his clients asked about him long after he left.
Lastly, think about it.. Why I ever terminate someone who did good work? It is simply not logical.
