MEIJER - BAIT AND SWITCH, DECEPTIVE PRACTICE, SCAM Bolingbrook, Illinois

So I bought a new 46" LCD television and was looking for an entertainment center for it. I was shopping online all the different stores, and I found a perfect one at Meijer on their website. It was on sale, original price $199.99 - was on sale for $100 off for only $99.99. It said available in stores, call for availability. So I called several Meijer stores, and finally found that the store in Bolingbrook had one left in stock so I asked them to hold it for me and I would come get it. I drove 45 minutes to the Bolingbrook store, and went to get my entertainment center. When they scanned the box, it rang up at $199.99. I told them it was on sale for $100 off, and they checked and said no it wasn't. I have an android phone, so I was able to get online right there at the counter and I pulled up the unit showing it was on sale for $100 off and that the price was good until 12/28/10. Then the cashier told me that they do not honor their pricing on their own website. I was dumbfounded. It clearly said on the website "available in stores, call for availability" - it was NOT an item that was only sold online. I told the cashier and showed her this, but she refused to honor THEIR OWN ADVERTISED SALE PRICE ! I asked for a manager, and the manager told me the same thing. I told her that was bait and switch, advertise something for one price and then ring it up at another. She said that if you read the tiny little print after clicking on 20 different links on their webpage it states "not all pricing is honored in all Meijer stores" REALLY ? ? ? It seems truly assinine that a company in todays day and age would have the audacity to advertise something as "on sale, available in stores, call for availability" and then tell you at the cashier that they will not honor their own pricing. Meijer just lost a faithful customer forever in me for this, especially considering I am a union guy and totally anti Walmart. I guess will be getting all of my future business.
