My computer was hijacked and held to ransom by a trojan virus that had infected the computer; it displayed a warning that my computer had been infected (true!) and indicated that all my existing anti virus programs would be ineffective in claering the problem. The message stated that the only solution would be to purchase the System Tool software program offered on the screen; the screen message appear to be permanent and Iwas totally unable to delete it or access any programs, internet or email. In my panic I susbscribed to the Sytem Tool software at the minimum cost AUS$60. This release the computer and programs back to me but left a System Tool icon indicating a virus was still in the system. I updated my anti virus progams and scanned the system. The Malwarebytes anti malware program located a "trojan.FakeAlert" bug and removed it; this removed theSysten tool icon. Norton Security found and removed another bug designed to 'hide' a virus within the computer system. Mackie, Hornsby Hts Australia.
