My two year old child stopped attending Marcus Pointe Baptist Daycare in Pensacola, Florida earlier this year due to our family experiencing a bankruptcy through the current recession. Marcus Pointe Daycare was notified 30 days in advance that we were moving which seems to be their policy. Now, months later when my wife called to get the year end child care tax paperwork from them she was informed by Karen the supervisor that we would have to pay $600.00 in back fees or we would not receive our tax paperwork for our government tax return. Then Karen the office manager berated my wife on how bad an account we were and that we were late always and we were a bother for her in the first place. I admit during this recession we lost our home and business and we were late at times, but I don't feel it was her place to upset my wife with these rude comments especially from a Christian church. We were late at times, but always managed to pay this church, but we were threatened numerous times that the space for our child Alex would be given to someone else. I am contacting the Federal Government and the Florida State Consumer Fraud Division about the actions of this daycare, and about them holding back my tax paperwork which is not legal. I would advise any parent to really take a look at the actions of a church body before you send a child to their daycare. Marcus Pointe Baptist church and their daycare are known around town to be all about the money, and the child comes second. I will report this action to every civic organization that will listen. I will also note that the office manager Karen is especially rude and offensive with her unneeded comments and opinion. She does not seem to have a Christian personality, and she would not return my call after she berated my wife. I have also requested the pastor Mr. Godfrey to return my call, but he has not. I would think that by their actions that Marcus Pointe Baptist Church is a business first, and a church second. |
