I purchased a 2009 XC 70 volvo from Lovering Volvo in Nashau on May 2nd on May 7th I reported noise in the engine. I was told to bring it to my nearest Volvo dealer on Long Island. I waited one week for my appointment and the car still had the same noise. Continued to bring the car back to Long Island dealer and was told on the 4th visit that the engine needed to be replaced. Phoned Lovering Volvo and was told by the owner Ricky Lovering that he did not manufacturer the car. He said it was Volvos problem. I told him I did not have an issue with Volvo or the servicing dealer. I have an issue with him not standing behind a product he sells. He gladly took the money for the car and decided that he has no accountability. He agreed that he has the money but said to call Volvo and file a lemon law suit and he has no responsibility for the vehicle. I told him that he prides himself in being a family run business that takes care of his customers . He informed me not in this case. It is Volvos problem not his.He said it was not his problem when he took my money though. I feel that the dealer is not standing by and taking a "not our policy" approach to the fact that he gladly took $29.000 but wants no accoutability for the vehicle he sold me less than 60 days ago. The vehicle falls under the lemon law requirements. He said contact Volvo at 1800... Poor business practice ..this could have been handled in a positive manner for all but he chose not to ...Sorry Ricky...I will continue with this muddy journey...
