This company was supposed to be at my apartment to move me between 8-10am. I made several attempts to call at 7:00am, 7:15am, 7:30am, 7:45am, 8:00am, and finally reached someone at 8:15am. The lady in the office, Ronda, said that she was running late and that she was supposed to be in the office an hour prior to 8:00am. I told her it that because she was late it would be fine to reschedule for 10am-12pm time slot. The movers did not show up until 1:15pm. I should have never had to reschedule in the first place. The movers started the moving time as soon as they showed up on my property which Ronda told me was not supposed to happen. She said that they are supposed to start when the first piece of furniture is moved. It took the driver, Cody, 15 minutes to park the truck alone. Throughout my move, I watched the other mover Zack standing around and not moving anything, just sort of watching Cody move stuff around in the truck. I moved the majority of the boxes myself which I should have never had to do. I hired a company for a reason. I feel like I worked a lot harder than I should have to help these movers and that should have never been the case. The mover, Zach dropped my night stand 2 times, once down my stairs and once outside of the house that I moved to. They ripped my blinds in two different places at the foot of my stairs moving an entertainment center. They also completely mess up my dresser. There is a drawer that is no longer intact and the back is hanging off. They also messed up my entertainment center which now has paint marks all over it from them scrapping it up against the walls. We went to my storage facility and it took the movers another 10 minutes to get their truck out of the facility. That is a combination of 35 minutes in parking alone that the guys spent of my moving time. This does not include the time that they were standing around doing nothing. After the movers were down, they wanted to charge me for 3 hours. After they arrived late and took so much time parking and standing around during my move. I objected to the amount of time because I felt it was not a valid amount of hours. I felt like I should have been charged for only 2hrs. Cody stated that I was getting a $75 an hour move and that I was not charged for going to an additional stop, my storage, so we could call it even. The owner of the company gave me this price for the two stops which was not my fault and does not deter from the fact that I was not moved for a total of 3 hours. I was very rude to both my mother and I. Before leaving my home Cody stated that if he would have known it was going to be a $75 move, he would have never down it. This was not professional and it was very rude. They damaged my belongings and charged me for time that was not spent actually moving me. I am not asking for all the money back from my move, just $75 for the hour the charged me that was not spend moving me. I also want to be paid for the blinds that they messed up that I had to pay my apartment for, and the damage that was down to my night stand, dresser, and entertainment center. |
