Lonestar Trikes and Motorcycle Assessories Lonestar Trikes, LLC Failed to honor warranty, Sloppy installations. Safety issues. Canton, Michigan |

This company was hired to install a motorcycle trike kit to our 2008 Honda Goldwing. The nightmare started in February of 2011 and hopefully ended March 2012, it's been worse than a bad divorce. Lonestar Trikes took our money ($10K) and our motorcycle in February 2011 and we were told it was going to Denton, Texas. After several phone calls and nasty emails we found out in May 2011 that our motorcycle was in Michigan. The bike was brought back to us not triked which was not all the fault of Lonestar Trikes, but a good portion of it was. The bike was finally done in August 2011 in our shop after we refused to let them do it out of the back of a trailer. March 2012 we discovered a torn CV joint boot. The mileage was minimal because the motorcycle was stored for the Winter. The installer was called and he proceeded to tell us that we broke it and we needed to fix it. What? Really? I contacted the dealer and they thought differently. The installer was to pick up the part at the dealer and come and fix it under warranty. That never happened. The installer was kind enough to ship the part to us for us to fix. The dealer put me in contact with another installer which required me to rent a trailer, load up the bike and travel 6 hours and it took the new installer 5 hours to fix the boot and then when he started seeing issues and knowing we had a big trip planned, he went through the entire trike kit, fixing and torquing bolts that were never originally torqued. Fiberglass that should have been bolted to the frame and body of the motorcycle were never installed. The CV boot was never installed properly on the shock causing the shock to rip the book almost in half. I will never refer anyone to him and before you do business with this company I would think twice. It's nothing but a headache. He has a forum on his website that he only allows postings that benefit him. As of February 2012 he is not licensed to do business in Texas according the Secretary of State. |
