I was working at a Full Time even Over Time job when I was offered a position at Little Tykes Daycare as the Lead Teacher for the Schoolers Room along with a place for my son in the two year olds room while working. I was told it would be a full time position and practically begged to come and help the manager, Kim, to help redo the schooler room which needed alot of Tender Love and Care.
The Hours in which this wonderful," Full Time" job.. are four hours a day.. the reason? Because I missed my first two days of work due to an emergency move from my apartment to a new one due to my car being broken into ( 3 windows nothing stolen) with graffiti on my apartment door. ( I have written statements from the North Richland Hills police department, my landlord and the Budget Truck Company Receipt.) The move was not known until the weekend in which I called my boss to let her know the situation. On Monday I called to let her know I was up till 4 am to prepare the " make ready", for my landlord to look at my old apartmets damages and status... she told me I had 1 hour to get to work. By this point, all of my belongings are packed away in garbage bags..so I arrive with flip flops and mismatched shoes for my son, ( was doing paperwork in the office that day and not interacting with children or customers), and when I arrived in her deadline she told me to go home after forcing me to come up there due to my attire.
The situation now is I managed to recently heal from my upper respiratory infection in which the coughing actually cracked my ribs. Cracked ribs take an estimated time of 6-8 weeks to heal in which pain medication and sleeping is involved. Nothing can medically be done to " Fix" that kind of a break, crack or bruised rib. It has to heal naturally. On closing one day ( mind you my boss along with co workers and even the children in my room were well aware of my cracked rib for two weeks now) I was asked to mop the floor in which I told her," alright but it's going to take a while because my rib is cracked", she called corporate ( a family owned business) who told her to tell me that I have to have a doctors note to continue working.
I never stated I was unable to perform my job duties and I am now stuck at home perfectly able to work and being forced to go to the doctor to get a note stating my limitations. Any idiot can tell you that this medical situation requires sleep, pain pills and time.. nothing more. Time to Heal. Would you force someone to get a doctors note who has arthritis every time they tell you," sure but this will take time?", how about a war veteran who is missing a finger...?
I was also told I would be getting more hours for christmas since most of the employees would be going on vacation.. I was given 30 extra minutes.. one day. That was all. Amazing!
I left an Over Time good working job to work at Little Tykes to help their Daycare flourish after their promises and pleading and this is what I get.. to stay at home wanting to work and being told I am unable to do so! Thank you Little Tykes, I'll make sure to write the BEST review for my son going to your daycare.. now that's a completley different story. A 2 year old stuck in the one year old room ( told me two year old room before hired), he is potty trained standing up ( room doesn't have a toilet), and my son is a " slow talker" in which he is placed in a room where children are not even talking! ( When confronted boss about the talking issue she stated," he can learn from his teacher"..... ) H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E Daycare. |
