LCEC Lee County Electric Cooperative THEY TOOK MY METER & DEMANDED $800.00 IN CASH PLUS |
18th of Oct, 2011 by User706058 |
I received a call on Monday Oct. 18, 2011 from LCEC. They wanted to set up a time to check my meter because there was a problem. I called them Tuesday Oct. 19 2011 at 9:15 am. They said to leave the fence open because they needed to check the meter. I told them I have 2 Rottweilers and would prefer if they used the doorbell before I leave my gate open. The man said he would call me back after he asked a supervisor for permission to ring my doorbell. Within 5 minutes they called back. In aprox. 25 minutes 2 men came to the door and I let them in the gate. They said they were here to check my meter. They removed my entire meter from the wall and accused me of removing the inner seal. I called LCEC and they told me the meter was tampered with and I had to pay $845.00 in CASH. Then I had to go home call them and see if another meter could be installed that day. Only another $545.00 on my bill. The supervisor called me later and I could hear laughing and foul language in the back. She said more fees will be on my bill. I asked how much more and she said that is not her department. When I leave for 4 or 5 days, I turn the main breaker on my house off. This helps me save money. But LCEC said I tampered with the meter. They charge $15 just to be a customer. I DID NOT remove a seal. I have no idea how to. So, if your bill goes from the "normal" $400.00 a month to $275.00 THEY ACCUSE YOU OF "TAMPERING" THIS IS SO CRAZY ANYONE ELSE HAVE ISSUES WITH LCEC?? |

Yes i have had a similar problem on 08/2011 they came out and turned off my power even after i had paied them via web that morning. Once i got home you can imagine how mad i got when i saw that they had cut the power i tried to call them but like always there customer service department is closed. So that night me and my family spent the night with no power at 7am the following morning i called them to find out why even after the payment was payed did they cut the power there answer was that the credit card payment option on their LCEC web site was not linked to them it is a third party that process the transactions for them and even with the confirmation number given to me by ther website they couldn't check the charge till it posted in there bank the system wouldn't let them stop the disconnect order. So later on that day they sent someone out to put the power back on and they said that when the tech got there that the metter had been tampered with and that they where closing my account and taking my 425.00 deposit and if i wanted power again i had to open a new account and pay a new deposit and one month bill up front which was over 650.00. I asked to talk to a manager in the field reps dept and to show me the proff that they say they have that lead them to say i tampered with the metter. I am.still waiting no proff no calls no help from anyone. |
