I had ordered $700 worth of their photographic lighting equipment at a trade show in August. I was to make 3 payments, after 2 of them and $500 later, I realized that I could not continue this order for financial reasons and I called and asked them to kindly cancel my payment plan and please refund the money towards the items. I never recieved any products because I still had another payment to make. After two months of continual phone calls and emails to their customer service department, I still did not have a refund. The most upsetting part was the lack of customer service. The representative that they would say I needed to speak with was never there, in a meeting, and never returned any phone calls. I called about every 2-3 days for a month straight! I sent an email and got one response, which was not satisfactory, since I still could not get a refund. I even sent the police by just to be sure they had not gone out of business, and that's why they were avoiding my calls. After all, I was only asking for a refund for items that were never even shipped. I have never seen a company with such a reputable name within the professional photographic industry treat customers so poorly. I guess they are only good to the ones who have a lot of money to spend with them. Finally, frustrated I called their SALES department and asked if I could order product in place of the $500 they owed me, but I was not going to give them the remain $200 to get what I orginally ordered because of their poor customer service. They returned my call directly and after a few "back and forths" with the secretary, we found items they ACTUALLY had in stock for that amount and they sent them to me. They tried to add shipping and I refused, saying after all I went through they should give me the product worth my money. I was furious by this point and had every intention to just sell the items on ebay. However, I will now pull out my $200 background stand at every photography training class (I have about 300 photographers in my training group) and tell this story again and again. Amazing that they sent those items to me immediately! All I wanted was a refund, and if for some reason it was taking them two months to do so, a simple phone call to apologize and explain, would have been atleast some level of customer service. I later read on the professional photographic forums about many other photographers having similar experiences with their customer service department and wondered why no one has taken this to a more public place. Although they now owe me nothing else monitarily, I decided to write this scam report to protect someone else from their bad service. If you order something and it is not in stock, they will charge your card anyways and you will wait, from what I have read, months and months for the product and they will not return phone calls especially if you are upset. Beware of doing business with anyone with this poor of customer service, it shows their lack of care for you as the people who keep them in business! |
