Kwik Kar Lube & Tune - 9623 Jones Road Houston, Texas |
Fraud and Scam Alert |

I stopped in for an oil change at the Kwik Kar Lube & Tune, 9623 Jones Road, Houston, TX 77065. The technician, listed on the invoice, Christine Mills stated that I had gone twice over the amount of miles. However, this was not accurate as my car only requires oil changes every 5000 miles. Of course, I knew where she was headed and as I suspected, she recommended (an upsell) letting her flush it out at half-price. I declined, so she indicated that she could go ahead and change the oil, but it would still appear very dark.
I should have cancelled the service and left at this point, but I allowed the oil change. Afterwards, a couple of days later, the oil change reminder light came on, so I am assuming she didn't reset the data at the time of the change. To be safe, I took the car to the dealership to have them re-change the oil and reset the data to be safe. Lesson learned. I have my doubts on whether she actually changed the oil. My dealership has the same doubts and advised flushing out of oil was not necessary. I firmly feel that she (Christine Mills) charged me for an oil change that she never did. Watch out for her! I will not use this business ever again and cannot recommend to anyone.
I should have done my research. Since then, I have found numerous negative reviews by fellow consumers. Many have faced similar instances of fraud. |

Friends,
Let my start of by saying this constant bad mouthing of this company is all lies. A customer has taken this a little to far and has made this personal. It's a shame that people cannot act like grown adults on here. This company does change the oil and they do not tell people to change their brakes to pass inspection. Matter of fact DPS review shows no one in the last 11 months have failed for brakes. Weird ...right? Also this location does have cameras that record all day. I have personally contacted this manager at this location as I do business with them. I find it very odd that this manager has not been contacted by any of these customers ...actually I do not find that odd because it's a lie. The same story goes up ...they didn't change the oil, and asked to put on brakes for a inspection. Do not buy into this one angry customer that has multiple screen names and has no life. To my fellow friend that has taken this to far...I have advised this location of their rights. Did you know you can be in trouble for defamation of character? Since you do like to use names. Stop harassing this business and find something more productive to do.
Thank you |

James You're Sick!!!
James Howard Patton, 39, may need another lesson about the birds and the bees. Obviously afflicted with serious sexual issues, the former employee of Earthman Funeral Home in Houston was arrested this past weekend after some very weird photos surfaced while Patton was being investigated for allegedly harassing an ex-girlfriend over the Internet.
The police obtained a search warrant for his computers earlier this year, and purportedly found a little more than they were looking for, particularly with regard to his photos.
One of the sick images on Patton's computer depicted a man's penis touching the foot of a naked female corpse. Another showed a dead female lying spread-eagle. Based on the information that was released by the Houston Police Department, it was not clear whether the photos involved more than one incident or more than one corpse...
The digital photos, according to Lisa Marshall, spokesperson for Earthman's parent company, Service Corporation International, were taken in 2004, prior to Patton's employment at Earthman's.
"These are very disturbing allegations, " Marshall said. "I hope people understand that this incident is unusual and is not indicative of what we're like as an industry."
An expert who examined the photos, 27 in all, concurred that they were taken in 2004.
"I can tell you that the defendant's male sexual organ was seen in various poses with those of dead bodies, " said Donna Hawkins, a representative of the Harris County District Attorney's Office.
Patton's ex-girlfriend fingered Patton as the man seen in at least one of the photos, and investigators said they had found other photos of Patton wearing a suit similar to that seen in the photos.
According to court documents, Patton purportedly told police that he had also taken photos of himself and corpses in September 2008, while he was still employed at Earthman's, and admitted that he last abused a corpse "a year ago."
Patton has been charged with abuse of a corpse, a class A misdemeanor, and was released from jail after posting $1, 500 bond. If convicted, he faces up to a year in jail and a $4, 000 fine.

Come on Kwik Kar, can all these folks be wrong?

Needs to be shut down I went in to get a tune up for my 2004 Toyota Corolla. The guy told me he would charge me $120 for a $200 job. I thought this was really nice of him. Yesterday my car started shaking and rattling again so I took it to Advance Auto Parts to get a diagnosis. Needless to say, no plugs, wires, or anything else was changed during my tune-up! The same dusty spark plugs were still on my car. When I called Kwik Kar Lube & Tune to tell them about their half-a-- job, the manager tells me that he started the job, but let his assistant finish it. I don't care how the screw-up happened, it did. And whoever takes over a job, should be trusted enough not to screw it up. NEVER AGAIN... DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS PLACE!

Avoid it like a plague! I'd give them a minus one star for the damage they caused. My husband took my mini van in for an oil change while I was out of town. They over tightened the screw to the oil pan & stripped the treads. This was uncovered when I took my van in for the next oil change at the dealership where I'd been going for all my services for the last 12 years. I ended up having to leave my van there overnight for a new oil pan to be ordered & installed as the screw could no longer fit or hold the oil in, redering my van undrivable. My husband called Kwik Kar to inform them of the damage they had caused & wanted to be compensated for the cost of the new oil pan. The dealership had saved the old pan & the screw for evidence. The manager said the only ... Show full review

scam artisits (worst place I've ever been) Took 2 cars to get inspections, both somehow managed to need new brakes. They claimed my car could not pass inspection due to brakes. I took the 2nd car to a mechanic I know, and he said my brakes had more then 50% left of life. So, they were going to try and force me into getting new brakes by claiming I couldn't pass the state inspection. I felt pressured and bullied by them, and they were trying to convince me my car needed stuff it didn't. Worst place ever. They try to come across nice, but they're just scam artists through and through. Avoid this place at all costs if you want to save your money.

Warning Do not use them. Our daughter went simply to have a state inspection done, & they said she needed new brakes. She went to her mechanic, & there was nothing wrong with the brakes. They also charged her for some things that the trusted mechanic said was a scam & unnecessary. They are dishonest.

Tried to screw us over Went in for state inspections, and they tried to say we needed over $500 dollars worth of brake maintenance on each of two cars. Seemed iffy, so we went to our old mechanic in Katy who said there wasn't anything wrong. Avoid these crooks.
