Kenneth Leslie Carson is a CONVICT. He has a history of crime, dating back over 20 years. Previously, he was charged with and convicted of UTTERING FORGED INSTRUMENTS and ERASURE/ALTERATIONS WITH INTENT TO DEFRAUD. That's right. When you are a convict with little traceable employment history, it is highly likely that you will end up screwing MANY people along the way, including those who might rent to you... explaining why there have been so many residences (victims) along Kenneth Leslie's path to California. So, eventually, Kenneth Leslie Carson made it to Mendocino County, CA. We are investigating the circumstances involving his 3 addresses in Ukiah. At one address, the con went something like this: At the onset of winter, when the weather began to turn wet and cold, Kenneth Leslie Carson decided it was time to run his latest scam. He targeted a gullible guy. He came with a mouthpiece, who looked respectable and did all the talking. He sought storage space in an old garage, with access to supposedly effect repairs to his trailer. Nothing more. It was made clear that the space would not be used as a residence. Kenneth Leslie Carson paid only enough to take occupancy of the storage space. Once he took occupancy, he set up a RESIDENCE inside the garage, complete with a NEWLY CONSTRUCTED ROOM that Kenneth and company built without permission of any kind. He moved in at least 4 people with him, and began charging those people rent on space that he himself wasn't paying rent for. They all began using electric heaters, running up electric bills that they had no intention of paying. They began threatening the owners of the business that rented the storage space. The threats included legal action from his "attorney" and violence (they will be sent to the hospital, etcetera). Police had been called numerous times. On one occasion, they stopped by and saw that Kenneth Leslie Carson and crew had about 50 bikes inside the garage, which Ken and crew appeared to be highly nervous about. In addition to concerns about the source of the bikes, the police later stated that they suspected that drugs were being dealt out of the location. Kenneth Leslie Carson, through his helpers, understands how to take possession of property, how to exploit weaknesses (like most predators do), and the laws surrounding evictions. He has been citing the law throughout the eviction process, telling those who rented the storage space what is legal and what isn't legal. People who rent with intention to rent and pay... they don't generally have an encyclopedic knowledge base of California Tenant-Landlord law. They rent, and pay their bills. People like Kenneth Leslie Carson, who do spout the law do so because they never intended to pay and need to have a grasp of what they can get away with... to the extent that they do not end up back in prison again. In summary... this is how Ken Carson operates. He doesn't talk much. He might have a person representing him. He will have a hard luck story, like his girlfriend is dying, in order to play on your sympathies. He targets the weakest link... the person most likely to say "yes". He might seek to rent "storage space" to repair his trailer... (and to store himself, his girlfriend, and every meth head tweeker that he can sublet your property to). He is quick to come up with the cash required to take occupancy. The moment you say "yes", you are now screwed. Ken Carson clearly thinks he is intelligent. He isn't. He merely knows how to con people; a relatively easy task to do, that he probably picked up in the Oklahoma PRISON system. What Ken fails to realize is that, eventually, it all catches up to you. When you leave a trail of cons, you begin establishing a track record. That track record can be used to show intent. Intent is needed to prove the crime of fraud; a crime that, in one form, Ken has already served prison time for. Right Ken? You betcha!
