Ken at Beach Buffers Car Wash Discriminates Against Veterans!! Myrtle Beach, South Carolina |
1st of Jan, 2011 by User802593 |
What type of business accuses a
potential client that the vehicle they are having detailed does not
belong to the vehicle owner?! I made an appointment at Beach
Buffers 2 weeks in advance for a full car detail. I'm a military
veteran visiting family in Myrtle Beach, and they recommended I use Ken
at Beach Buffers. Upon arrival "Ken" came flying out of his
"business" with flaring nostrils and accusations that the vehicle was
not mine! "I know who owns this vehicle!," "I told THAT girl to NEVER
come back here AGAIN!", and "Show me PROOF this car belongs to you and
not THAT girl!," are some of the comments Ken made to me. I purchased
the vehicle late 2009 from a private owner, and I've never met Ken or
set foot in the circus show he refers to as a "business". Ken
immediately began chanting about a girl who had a similar vehicle whom
he "banned from his business" (who does that?)! I tried explaining
numerous times I did not know what he was talking about, but he was
resilient. Ken was so up in arms that he demanded proof the vehicle was in my name. I proceeded to call my bank so they could fax proof to
Ken. Upon asking Ken for a fax number the lady behind the counter
glared at me and stated they have the right to refuse service to anyone. He said his attorney (whom I'm in the process of contacting) advised
him "not to touch" the vehicle. I promptly left the property. I can't believe how disrespectful this couple was to a veteran. I'm
contacting the Better Business Bureau, local newspaper, and an attorney. You can NOT get away with discrimination. Please consider this when
choosing where to get your car detailed. I ended up using on hwy 544 . They also have a
501 location . The business is EXTREMELY professional and the price was $140 instead of $175 Ken from Beach Buffers quoted. The
manager was personable and made sure my vehicle was finished in time for my 6PM dinner plans. He went over the vehicle with a white glove
inspection before I left his business. He also assured me that he
stands behind his work 110%, and if I'm NOT satisfied for any reason I
can return and he will FIX it (NO questions asked). I couldn't ask for a better detailing job; my vehicle was spotless and he even cleaned the
engine! I knew I made the right choice when I pulled into and there were 8 cars being worked on, versus when I left Beach Buffers
with zero cars and 3 employees standing around sucking their thumbs. For those of you who have been disrespected or otherwise wronged
by Ken or his cohort at Beach Buffers, please consider contacting the
Better Business Bureau at and filing a complaint. Ken at Beach Buffers does NOT deserve to be in business. To Be Continued... |
