Keene Inspection Services Dale Keene my pay was 20 days late and the check bounced plattsmouth, Nebraska

I performed property inspections in Oklahoma for Dale Keene of Keene Inspections in Nebraska. I was to be paid x amount of $ for each inspection and pay day was the 15th of each mo. On appx. March 2nd Keene lost their contract with a major mortgage company and sent out emails that all the work would be pulled from everyone on the 15th and that pay would arrive at the usual time. I received emails from associates who also worked for Keene on the 17th of March stating that they had been paid. After many emails and phone calls I received a paycheck from Dale Keene on April 2nd. I took it to be cashed and the woman at the check cashing center said that the check reader wouldn't read the check. She called the phone number on the check (the office number for Keene). Her call was answered but the person on the other end of the line would not verify the check or my employment with the company. I've been to several places attempting to get this check cashed and have gotten responses which have included, "there's suspicious activity with this account" "this is an invalid account number" and "this is not a real check". I'm actually afraid if I try to cash it again I'll be arrested. I have obtained other employment however the job involves driving from house to house and sometimes over 100 miles per day. I invested not only time doing the job for Keene but money for gas and other travel expenses so I'm down that amount as well as the check amount. I have filed a claim with the Oklahoma Department of Labor but I hear Keene is beginning operations in other areas and for other mortgage companies. I would seriously not recommend working for these people. Nor would I hire them to inspect my home. Dale Keene has lied to me, avoided my calls, ignored my emails and when he did acknowledge me he promised to do something immediately and did nothing. What a cheat!!
