Joseph Goforth owner of Southwest Development Services, in Scottsdale, AZ, is a dead-beat "Father" who claims to be destitute and unemployed (although his face appeared on the front of the Scottsdale Republic on 03/18/2011 as representing CF Waterfront Investments LLC on a major Scottsdale project that is still in the works). Joe was previously 10 months behind on child support, claimed poverty while dining at Capital Grill several nights a week to the tune of $800.00 a meal, purchasing court-side seats to basketball games for himself and relatives in Denver and traveling/staying in upscale resorts and hotels; Joe spent over $90,000.00 in six months but could not pay support for his two children. After diminishing my savings account in order to pay for attorney fees, I ended up settling for .10 cents on the dollar for his back support. Additionally, at that time, still claiming poverty and unemployed, Joe's child support was reduced to a measly $219.00 a month. After lying to the courts and being caught working on a case for a north Scottsdale property amongst others; he has yet to adhere to that child support order and has not paid since June 2010. Joe is also ordered to pay for half of his childrens health and dental costs of which he has failed to do so and owes over $1,000 for his share of hospital bill for his Son and orthodontics expenses for his daughter. Joe fails to show up for his custody time 3/4 of the time and lies to the children about why he did show. When he does show he spends no more than 1 hour with them of the three he is supposed to. He used to have overnight visits but they were revoked because he failed to get the children to school and the district was going to report the absences. On his custodial weekends, he has the children sleeping on the floor or a box spring mattress, in a house that is infested with cockroaches and is filthy dirty. He often just disappears on the weekends, leaving the kids so he can go out and drink instead of spending time with them. Joe Goforth is also not supposed to be transporting the children without a valid drivers license. It came to my attention that in 11/2010, Joseph Goforth was charged with four criminal traffic violations which are as follows: 1) Providing False Information to an Officer
2) Driving with a revoked/suspended/cancelled license (see above regarding children)
3) Failure to show drivers license

A bench trial is scheduled for 06/27/2011 at 9am. Joseph has also been charged with domestic violence against his children's Mother and was put on probation in 2009 after being arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear for the charges; he spent 10 days in jail. Joseph Goforth was also arrested and served time for a DUI. Is this the kind of person you want to be affiliated with? If so, good luck, you have been warned. He screwed over his own attorney Douglas Parker who was also "supposedly" a friend; didn't pay him one dime for his representation during the previous court filing. If he'll screw over a "friend" and his kids don't think youre going to be an exception. If you have already done business with him, make sure you get a W-9 since Joseph Goforth has failed to file taxes for more than at least the 3 years the courts asked for (he lied about that also) and good luck to you! |
