JK Harris - Making promises and stealing your money, Internet |

I was looking for help with my tax debt when I heard the radio commercial for JK Harris. Just what I needed (so I thought). I went to see Rusty in a Greenspoint area office. He took some information from me and within minutes told me I was qualified for a OIC (offer in compromise). For $400.00 down and an easy payment plan, I could be free of my tax burden. I could reduce my $30,000 tax liability to around $6000.00. Hooray my prayers had been answered (so I thought). After giving him a check, signing the contract Iwaited for some one to contact me. After a week or so, someone called and said to get all my financial records in order and send them in and they would start the OIC. I sent the paperwork in (twice), and called to speak to my "case specialist". And I use that term loosely. She barely had command of the english language and had no idea what the hell was going on. After going around and around I finally talked to the supervisor who said my case had been given to another "specialist". These "specialists" come from the want ads in S.C. where the office is. They are no more qulified tax professionals than Peter Pan. They get their "training" locally and are turned loose on the public with a very serious issue. I ended up with a payment plan after spending $1600.00 that I struggled to make BEFORE I started paying the IRS. I could have done this myself and saved my money and the interest that accumulated while paying these idiots. Oh, and they DO NOT tell you that the OIC is 20% down and that the governmnet keeps that if they reject your offer. Nice going! The state of Texas filed a law suit against JK Harris. I was told by the D.A. in Houston that they will settle of court because these predators were going to file bankruptcy to keep from paying back the money they had STOLEN from the residents of Texas. |
