Avoid this company if you work in the Electrical field or if you are looking to have Electrical work done. The name of the company is called JC Power Systems Incorporated based in Edmonton, Alberta which is run by a brother and sister Jason Cook and Jody Cook. JC Power Systems Incorporated 16649 113 Ave Edmonton, AB Canada, T5M 2X2 Phone #: 780-455-1825 Fax #: 780-455-1831 Email: [email protected] Jason Cook took care of the day to day operations of his fathers company called Co-par Electric Ltd. Which is unionized and is owned by his father Douglas Cook. http://www.ecaa.ab.ca/roster_search_by_name.cfm?firstname=&lastname=&companyName=Co-Par%20Electric%20Ltd&RC=Yes&chapter=Edmonton Co-Par Electric Ltd Douglas Cook, President 11312 - 156 Street, Edmonton, AB, Canada, T5M 4C6 Phone: 780-453-1414 Fax: 780-452-0303 Email: [email protected] Co-Par / JC Power Systems Inc is an anti-union company and in order for Co-par to not follow Union rules he has had his Son Jason setup JC Power Systems Incorporated and employees from Co-Par Electric Ltd work for JC Power Systems and encourages the employees not to report this to the union that they are working for a non-union company. When people go to work for JC Power Systems they take a drastic pay cut vs what is made working for Co-par Electric Ltd. There are a majority of the people that are union members who works for Co-par at some time that are now working for JC PowerSystems Inc. which violation Union rules when they don't tell the Union that they are working non-union. JC Power System also attempts to hire on more apprentices and use them as cheap labour and use them as Journeymen and pay them very low pay and have them use their own personal vehicle as a work truck. http://www.jobbank.gc.ca/detail-eng.aspx?OrderNum=5648191&Source=JobPosting&CommGrouping=GAB005&Sources=JobBank,&OfferpPage=50&Student=No http://www.wowjobs.ca/job/Apprentice+electrician,+construction+%281st+Year-jc+power+systems-edmonton+ab-10053824 You won't get paid no $18 an hour either from what I have heard you will get paid about $17 an hour from this company with no KM or any kind of travel time or any other kind of reimbursement for using your own vehicle. And you are expected to go outside of Edmonton as well using your own vehicle. Over all it isn't even worth working for this company you will just end up getting screwed in the end with your pay as well and your hours. You will not get 40 hours a week and he will give you some work but won't give you full hours. Jason Cook is a smooth talker but don't believe what he says or what he puts on job listings like the ones above. Also JC Power Systems as of the end of April does not have any kind of medical benefits plan. Their safety isn't that good either they will leave you alone one site yourself even if you are a 1st year or 2nd year apprentice. Health and Safety is a big concern when you work for JC Power Systems. Even though this is against the rules and a 1st and 2nd year apprentice should be supervised at all times they will leave them alone on site. If you say anything about it you will find that you will be threatened to be fired. This company will also attempt to pass off used parts as new and use them on various projects. JC Power will take parts out of other locations and reuse them. Don't trust this company they are crooked as hell!!!! The quality of the work done by this company is horrible they are over all a very bad company! Don't use them for any kind of work or work for them. |
