Jared Shafer under investigation by FBI for wire fraud. The bank of Nevada, a well known trusted institution for Nevada residents is implicated in a major guardian wire fraud involving senior depositors under the control of Jared E Shafer. Those most affected had their accounts in the Henderson Bank of Nevada branch managed by Daline Januik.
My mother was one of Jared Shafer's fraud victims who lost over $150,000in the Bank of Nevada’s Henderson branch. Jared Shafer was the former public guardian for Clark County for 23 years who retired and went into private practice. Federal regulator suspicions were aroused when they discovered the Las Vegas family court had a blatant practice of referring all seniors with assets above $250,000 directly to Jared Shafer, owner of Professional Fiduciary Services of Nevada/www.pfsn.com. Shafer received access to these accounts and let it be known other qualified guardians in Las Vegas would have to work off of his “left overs.†Witnesses have been in Commissioner Norheim’s court where these biased referrals are carried out. One guardian who feared retaliation by Shafer told us “Mr. Shafer said, if a guardian questions the family court referral practices, their guardian certification will be immediately removed by the National Guardianship Association.†It all became evident when the manager for the Henderson branch Daline Januik admitted to the FBI that she suspected Jared Shafer had been bribing at least two of her employees. The names of these employees are being withheld until federal indictments are issued. For several years large amounts of money were withdrawn from senior trusts and placed directly into accounts belonging to Jared Shafer and Patience Bristol. The FBI estimates approximately $5,000,000 has been fraudulently stolen from seniors from this Henderson Nevada Bank branch. The fraud has continued since 2003 when Jared Shafer left the public guardian’s office and set up his private practice. For some accounts Jared Shafer would withdraw small amounts ranging between $10,000 and $20,000. When he believed no one was watching a senior’s account, Jared Shafer and Patience Bristol would steal amounts between $100,000 to $300,000. The Bank of Nevada never questioned the transactions of Jared Shafer and Patience Bristol. The FBI believes Jared Shafer transferred large amounts of money to off shore banks located in the Cook Islands, Isle of Man, and one prominent LDS Church bank residing in the country of Lichtenstein. State and local regulators continue to turn a blind eye in the direction of Jared Shafer and his activities. When Shafer pled no contest to a Ponzi Scheme in 2008, state and local regulators treated the incident as if nothing had happened. The fact someone responsible for handling other people’s money pleaded no contest to a major fraud and was allowed to continue practicing says a lot about the Las Vegas Family court judicial system. The Ponzi scheme resulted in Jared Shafer paying a $20,000 fine, which was his commission for defrauding seniors in a project, which court transcripts proved Shafer knew the investment he was selling them would go bankrupt. The crime was further compounded by the fact Jared Shafer didn’t have a license to sell securities, which is granted by FINRA, the federal agency who regulates individuals and companies who sell securities to the public.
In 1983 the public guardian’s office fell under an investigation by the FBI because dead senior social security checks were being cashed by department employees who were supervised by Jared Shafer. Mr. Shafer managed to transfer the blame for these thefts to two employees who took the blame and promptly resigned. The two employees received jobs with Nevada Power and light in exchange for their silence. Nevada offers older citizens freedom from state taxes and excessive regulation. Unfortunately this reduction comes at a great price. Seniors have no idea their lives are being watch by gray blood sucking sharks that are waiting to pounce upon them when they become sick. Government agencies, banks, senior citizen clubs, and some churches have established a spy network, which will spring into action when they learn a senior can no longer take care of their affairs In Las Vegas. Seniors who have relatives living out of state are the tastiest prize because the lawyers and guardians will make a fortune billing upon the misery the Nevada system creates. Guardianship in Nevada has become an industry preying on victims in a similar manner as did the German concentration camps that operated during the late 1930s through the mid 1940s. This time the supposed crime doesn’t involve religion, it is simply committed against someone for growing old. Instead of the victim being sent to the gas chamber, they are sent to the poor house of guardian abuse.
