I purchased a $200 collector doll from the website japtou.com. They charged my credit card the same and day and changed my order to completed on their website. I waited two weeks for the item to arrive. I paid extra for express shipping, but never received any shipping information. After two weeks passed with no shipping information and no product, I emailed them through their website letting them know I had not received the item and that the item was a gift for my 8 year old daughter and that I purchased so far in advance to insure that it would be there on time. Furthermore, I expressed how the item I purchased from them was the only gift I could afford my daughter, but that the doll, even though $200, was the only gift she wanted. I waited another week to give them time to respond to my email, but did not hear back. I emailed again informing them of my situation, but still no response. I sent another email letting them know that they were leaving me with no choice but to file a dispute with paypal. The seller still refused to repsond to my emails and still has not responded to my paypal dispute. So far, I am out $200, my daughter did not get her birthday gift and I could not purchase anything else since I am still waiting for my bank and paypal to help me with a refund. |

These complaints are absolutely ridiculous. I ordered two Queen's Blade anime figures for around $75 from this seller and recieved them on September 12th, 2011. If you pay with paypal or even purchase from this seller on ebay, you will never be out X ammount of dollars because of the money back guarantee offered. These people and their stupidity and/ or attitudes probably soured the whole deal. And if the first person who complained can only afford a $200 gift for her young daughter, she shouldn't be buying from an overseas company that may have less than high safety standards for their products including the use of lead paint so again, what an idiot...go shopping at some snob mall or high price internet retailer located in the good ol' U.S.A. and cry to someone else. |

My recent experience is a mixed bag. I ordered an £57 plushie on 2/2/12; paid using my CC through PP; received an order confirmation email, followed by a despatch email, with a tracking number on 8/2/12.
Both emails contained the entire content in the 'to' field, making them almost unreadable. I dug out the email address and asked for an ETA, as the site only lists 'Normal Shipping', which is meaningless. No reply. I mailed again a few days later. Still no reply.
However, when I tried the tracking number, the HKPO listed the item as having left HK on 8/2/12.
Another week passes, and no delivery. I went back on the site, logged in, found 'Order History' then used the contact form to ask, once more, for an ETA. However, the anti-spam captcha feature is faulty, as it took me ten attempts to make it corroborate its own code. No, it wasn't user error - this captcha system could have been read by a blind man and I'm a professional writer. Anyway, it eventually accepted my message but - you guessed it - no reply.
Another few days, and I mail again, threatening a PP chargeback unless there's some form of confirmation. At the same time, I try contacting Parcel Force (the delivery partner in UK) and it says the UK tracking number doesn't exist yet, possibly as the package hasn't hit the UK. I start to think my fifty-seven notes have gone down the swanney.
21/2/12, some four days later, and it turns up. Well-packaged; marked as $3 to avoid RM and customs adding 40%; and exactly as described.
My opinion? I got off lightly. The site is fine, the comms/customer service is appalling, and you've no idea what the Hell is going on until either you product materialises - or doesn't. Mine had been discontinued and Japtou.com was the only place that had it, so I took a risk. I will never use Japtou.com again.
Conclusion: caveat emptor. |
