Jandy complete waste of money does not function properly and it's only three months old, Internet |

I just installed a new Jandy heater. It has not functined properly from the get go. It is unreliable. For the first few days, it functioned slowly, but it did function. Then, sporadically, it began to malfunction. It rarely gives the same error code. I would have to disconnect the electricity to the unit completely, let it sit and turn it back on. It would begin to function properly for more than 5 minutes (as I stood and watched) and then 20 minutes later when I would go to check on it, a new error message would be displayed. This went on for over a 12 hour period and I finally gave up and left it off for the entire night. The next morning, i turned it on again, and it worked all day - heated the pool to an increase of 9 degrees in a 24 hour period - sweet, I think it's finally going to work. I left it on to heat the remaining 17 degrees i needed to get the water to a decent swimming temperature. But 24 hours later, with the pool heater still on, not only has it not heated the pool any warmer, but it has lost 4 degrees. The heater was allegedly functioning, with no error messages, but the unit was barely warm to the touch. During the short period of time that it actually heated the water, the unit got warm enough that it would be uncomfortable to touch for any length of time. Now, barely warmer than the outside air temperature. I previously had a pool heater- it worked well for over 11 years with only a slight repair when a spider caused a web in one of the small tubes that carried the gas. Cleaned it out and never had another problem with it. The jandy heater might as well be turned in for the value of scrap metal. It has been VERY unreliable, and I have had to cancel 3 different plans that I had to swim with friends - thinking that the heater was goingt work, only to be disappointed again! |
