J.E.M. Installers - Marc scam- CON ARTIST - DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM HIM!! Brooklyn, New York |

I purposely went on line to buy TV's because I wanted to try and get a discount and to buy them from someone who could also mount them on my walls in my Manhattan apartment. Little did I know how screwed I got by this guy Marc who owns J.E.M. Installers. I purchased 2 televisions from him and should have known when he showed up with his young son as the helper that he was crooked. However, I thought it was sweet that his son was helping him. Prior to installation I had to purchase very expensive cables and I already had high end cables that he said I couldn't use. I am not familiar with electronics or wiring at all. So I trusted him...Big Mistake. He totally took advantage of a single woman who didn't know the first thing about pricing and televisions. After the installation I thought everything was ok...the cable boxes were what he blamed!!! The television in the bedroom had volume issues and he said it was the cable box. When I would turn on the main TV that I had installed in the living room, the picture wouldn't come on right away. I could hear the volume sometimes, but no picture. I would have to turn the TV off and on 10 times at least before I got a picture. After many complaints he came back and acted like he was doing me a huge favor to take if off the wall and return it to the "wholesaler." I even fed him and his son pizza because I believed he was really extending himself!!! Meanwhile he comes back a few days later with a "new" one.....It was probably the same one or just another "B" class one. Which I have since found out that manufacturers call their defective sets and never sell them. However, con artists somehow get their hands on them and re-sell them like Marc did and make money off of people who don't have a lot to throw around to begin with!!! So after the second installation and aggravation, it started to happen again...once again Marc blamed the cable boxes. I travel a lot and don't watch TV that often so I never followed up it with because I just learned to live with it and he convinced me it was a Time Warner issue. Needless to say, I have spent the last 2 years frustrated as hell watching a TV that I have to turn on and off several times just to get a picture.... In addition to the problem turning it on, now the picture goes out every 5 minutes for 10 seconds. That TV in the bedroom with the volume issue is also a defective TV. It's a lot of fun watching TV in the summer in my bedroom, because I can't have the AC on at the same time because I can't hear the TV!!! I finally got new cable boxes and the problems still exist. The cable guys told me over and over that I got defective TV's. I got totally ripped off! I have called Marc a few times to tell him about this and NO RETURN call... He is a scammer...By the way, J.E.M. stands for the initials of his 3 sons, so touching isn't it? Don't buy into his BS. HUGE LESSON learned...I am on way out to buy 2 new TV's now and will be throwing the 2 out that Marc the-owner of J.E.M. installers sold me...I should have just thrown the cash out the window, it would have been easier. Don't know how you sleep at night Marc....SHAME ON YOU. |

I have had similar problems with this installer. Find someone else. He is as crooked as a dog's hind legs. |

I've used Marc for three years. First at my apartment on E. 30th Street and later at my apartment on E. 68th Street. Marc is incredibly nice and honest. He and his son are helpful and both do an excellent job. I've recommended Marc to both family and friends who would say the same. |
