System Mechanic software, in my opinion, does not do what it purports to do. I had a long customer relationship (several years) with the company. I discovered that the company software claimed that it could fix registry errors. It purported to fix errors but did not seem to, for example, it would say found 250 errors fixed 250 errors, then the next consecutive 12 or 14 scans would say, found 248 errors fixed 248 errors, and this would continue as long as you cared to do more scans, the time between scans would be no more than 3 or 4 seconds. The program will not tell the user what is the nature of the discovered problem (s). I was told that my computer was so messed up that it was hopeless. This was not the truth. I worked closely with company tech support. They were unable to fix the problem and tried to sell me a special service that I could subscribe to for over $160.00 per year (I declined). The company refused to and has not refunded any of what was my current subscription money. I even asked them to prorate the refund, they would not. The company took over 7 months to refund a 2 year subscription extension. The company lied to me on one occasion that the check was in the mail, it was not! The person who answers a phone call, refuses to transfer the call to any one else in the company, including their supervisor (the person is always unavailable, in a meeting, at lunch, or not here etc.). The CEO & Vice President for Company Relations refuses to respond to written communications and phone calls. The company is happy to take your money and then does not want to cooperate in solving any problems, all communications by phone and e-mail are politely responded to with copious amounts of "I am sorry", "I apologize", "we will get back to you" and "I will forward this to my supervisor", you are unable to talk to anyone else "it is company policy". The product does not seem to work. That is the nicest way that I can put it. I have used another registry repair software program before doing a System Mechanic registry repair scan and after doing a System Mechanic registry scan, the results were amazing, the first scan (not sys. M) Might produce a few errors, and fix them, the second scan (Sys. M) Would produce 248 errors, sometimes the number could vary, larger or smaller and fix, and the third scan (not Sys. M) Would find no errors to fix. If you like a company that treats the customer in a less than poor manner, then IOLO TECHNOLOGIES is perfect for you. There are other reports at other web sites that detail similar treatment with other people; this is not an isolated occurrence. |

I also have iolo and after five years of service I found them to be a scam. Called them to help me with a problem my definations would not up date. They worked on my compuiter for about 16 hours each time getting a different person to help me. Most of the time they wold not answer me. Then they put a program on me called nono unstaller to take my system mechanic off. That they did, but not in english, could not understand it. Told me it was my coupuiter that was to slow . The they told me to turn off my compuiter, and call them back in the morning, I did this, but morning came and I could not even get back on I had a black screen. Called them was told to call Calf. this is not toll free. Then they said there was a problem with my compuiter, , but for 99dollars a hour they could fix it. I took my compuiter to a repair man to fix it, he found the program they put in nono unstaller had wiped out everthing . After taken care of that problem he found nothing else wrong . My repair man got me back on line, without Iolo help. I spent money for nothing because of iolo, that could not help me. Everthing they said was a lie to me. I will never deal with them again for they are a scam |
