icemonkey.com Bait and Switch Scammed, Internet

I order a "new" 1TB Home Network Hard Drive about 7 months ago. All was working well. Took it out of the box, followed the manufactures directions. All's good so far. Present day, hard drive stops responding. Tried everything the manufactures recommends. I had the hard drive checked by a technician. Found out the hard drive was only 500GB, NOT 1TB. Scammed there. Upon further inspection, I found that the power cord was for an HP product that wasn't even similar to this product. Scammed there too. When I sent an email to customer service, just to explain it to them, they asked me why I hand't inspected the product sooner. Really!? I should have been untrusting from the beginning? I would like to believe that people could trust online retailers like this and not have to worry about whether or not they are getting what they ordered. I don't have those problems with Amazon and I've ordered hundreds of items there. I've only ordered a couple things from icemonkey.com and so far, the percentage of scams is alarming. I was also told that since my order is seven months old, there is nothing they can do to help me. I'm not surprised by this, because if all the photos and family memories are lost on the hard drive, they're gone forever. Memories gone forever!! We'll see though. Now I have to spend more money on a possible data recovery method just to see if I can retrieve the data. All because I was lied to - and it's my fault for not checking the product!! Go figure, that's what con-artists do, blame the one who got conned.
