I received an unsolicited phone call from a company called 24 7 PC CARE saying they were notified through my window updates that I had malware on my computer and they begin guiding me through "manage" computer to check out my event log to see if there were any yellow warning triangles or red X warnings. I had a number of them. Then he asked if I had malware software and then led me to the run command on my computer and told me to enter "logmein123.com." I instantly realized that this was a web based support that would allow them to access my computer remotely (in this case, from India). I immediately said I wasn't interested and would have my computer checked out locally. Then I checked the Microsoft support websire to see what they say and this is what it says: Microsoft does not make unsolicited phone calls to help you fix your computer In this scam cybercriminals call you and claim to be from Microsoft Tech Support. They offer to help solve your computer problems. Once the crooks have gained your trust, they attempt to steal from you and damage your computer with malicious software including viruses and spyware. Although law enforcement can trace phone numbers, perpetrators often use pay phones, disposable cellular phones, or stolen cellular phone numbers. It's better to avoid being conned rather than try to repair the damage afterwards. Treat all unsolicited phone calls with skepticism. Do not provide any personal information. DO NOT LET ANYONE LOG INTO YOUR COMPUTER OR SELL YOU ANYTHING IF YOU DIDN'T CONTACT THEM FIRST! That motto has saved me a lot of pain. It will you too.

I had the same cold call from what looked like a local number(not sure how this was done as on ringback it says the number does not exist??) but the scammer sounded indian/pakistani. He claimed to be from a company called www.ourtechstore.com. I looked and there is a website called that but it looks amateur and not something you would expect to be associated to Microsoft. Any how he wanted me to type www.logmein123 to allow him to go in and sort out my 'problems'.
DO NOT LET THESE PEOPLE NEAR YOUR COMPUTER.

www.ourtechstore.com is a rogue offshore based Internet service that offers services such as cleaning viruses off of your computer and making your computer run faster ( supposedly). They make unsolicited phone calls, initially identify themselves as being from Microsoft Windows (a lie) and use high pressure boiler-room techniques to sell their services . This scam-like operation is topping the crime fighters' lists of current phone scams in North America. The police have told me that scammers are using merchant accounts and offshore boiler rooms in India and Indonesia/Phillippines. If somebody calls you up, speaks in a East Indian voice, reading off a script and says there is virus on your computer, offers to fix it and there is noticeable delay/lag on the line, these are the perps.

There is an actual business which is located at the address in Georgia, however this appears to be just a dupe who has some loose affiliation with the scammers and who allowed his address to be ripped off.

When asked WHERE in Georgia they were located, the caller did not know. A good tip-off eh? Like you don’t know the name of the town you work in. DUhh !
