I read one mom's complaint about model placement centr in safety harbor, FL. I had really bad experience with them as well. all I can remember is that whenever I went there, I ended up spending more money. First, they want me to have headshot. I paid around $500 for two looks. One looks came out nice, but the other look came out very bad. the owner Diane selected two photos among all the shots. One shot wasn't a good choice, so I complained about it. She said that the photo is not most important, it is just tool, yourself is more important some kind of crap like that. If I want different look, she said that I have to pay. so I said no. when I went to pick up the photo, the owner wanted me to take acting class. the class itself is okay but it wasn't that worthy comparing to what I paid over$100 per hour. I went to three times. that was it. Third time was putting my very small picture on their website. She told me that I have to pay $400 per year to put my photo on their website. She told me that if there is no picture on their website, she can't send my headshots out to agencies because it looks like I don't belong there if my picture is not on their website. it looks like the price is different for all people. so I paid it. and I saw my photo on their website, I was so upset. It was very small size photo in low resolution in Extra category. I didn't get any even extra work. the owner told me that she has many connections since she was a make up artist for celebrity for a long time. she said that she won't send all their members cattle call at all. but one time, they called me extra casting for film. it was weekend I went there, I remember I waited 4 to5 hours in the sun standing in line. She called so many people even some of them are not their members, they sent ad online, so just anyone could come. it was ridiculous. Also she said that our members will be picked first for extras. I don't think the casting director will check if this person belongs to MPC among hundred people. Also they asked me to pay $100 for mandatory seminar. It was waste of time. I already know most of the facts and it is not really teaching anything, it is more like chatting and talking about some experiences like that. It is something you can get information through people or online After all, the owner is a witch. this place needs thorough investigation. They are not an agency, so they don't need to give people job and if they are the agency, asking money for photoshoot is illegal in FL. so their identity is not clear. I won't recommend here. Just visit model agency, I think that is better.
