I purchased hardwood flooring from Three towers flooring. The owner came to my home to quote me on the flooring and installment. He sent me 2 different quotes with 2 different options. I told him exactly the work I was looking to have done and chose the option which I thought covered all the work I wanted done. The owner also recommended I buy an extra 25%flooring for possible future use. I agreed. There was a major language barrier with most of the workers who came to do the work and therefore It was difficult to communicate. The work was being done very quick and sloppy. They took out my existing baseboards so as to install the flooring. They broke many of the baseboards. When they reinstalled them, it was in a way that all along the bottom of the wall the colour of paint the previous owner had, was exposed. Now I have 2 different colours on the wall. Also, they used up all the flooring during installation, including the 25% extra that I had ordered. When they finished the flooring on the second floor, I went to inspect it and noted that the flooring at the edge of the stairs was installed on a slant. I told the worker I did not like the floor and contacted the owner to inform him. I asked if he would kindly come to my house to inspect the work as I was not happy with it. He said he is not coming. He said that it is impossible that the paint from the previous owner is exposed and if it does it was already like that. I asked him to come see for himself however he redused. He said that he already knows how his guys work and doesn't have to come and see anything. They removed the picketts from the railing to paint them as per our agreement but they ended up spray painting them. They look awful. You can totally see the wood underneath the spraypain. The stain on the stairs is such a thin coat u can see the oak light woood through the stain. Eventually he sent someone to my house to do some touch ups. He cleaned the paint in which had splashed on the walls and steps while they were painting the risers. I told the guy who came over that I did not like the edge of the steps being left on an angle. I contacted the owner on numerous occasions to tell him about the flooring. He said the reason he wasn't coming to see the work is because I would yell at him. I did not yell a him but was upset because he did not take any interest what so ever in the horrible job his workers were doing. The owner tells me that the reason the edge of the stairs looks the way it does is because it needs a nosing and that is not covered. I didn't even know what a nosing is until now and why did he not tell me in the beginning when he quoted me a price. All correspondence is via email. Finally the workers came to reinstall my railing. They left it very loose and is getting looser and unsafe to go up and down the stairs. I have communicated this to the owner however he has not taken any interest. I have read a review on their website from someone named Andrew who sounds like he had a similar nightmare of an experience with this company. I have now filed a report with the BBB and await their assistance. The owner was totally paid in full before the job was complete. Be careful of this company if you are considering installing hardwood flooring. They do a horrible job and do not stand behind their work. Once they finish you don't see them anymore.
I am hoping that with the assistance of Ripoff Report and the BBB, the above named company owner will send someone to fix the mess they made and complete the work properly. |
