Hyundai of Bradenton Formally Jenkins Hyundai They took full advantage worse than any dealership I've ever experienced!!! Bradenton, Florida |

I had purchased a new Veloster from Hyundai of Bradenton (formally Jenkins Hyundai) in October, 2011. The dealership, the finance officer in particular had provided the worst car-buying experience I've ever had! I'd been so stupidly excited and duped by the monthly payment figure my salesperson had given me! I believed and trusted as I was on such a high provided by the car, the monthly dollar figure I was given and the sales staff egging me on and clapping their hands! There was such friendliness among them and the entire floor was clapping their hands when I said "yes" to the monthly dollar payment figure my salesperson gave me! In all the high feelings I had I let my guard down and trusted them and never thought for a moment that it was all a ploy and that the finance officer I was soon to meet would be so dishonest and totally deceiptful! The finance officer had practically possessed me the second I had stepped thru his office door! I had asked him for a SIX-year loan with a low interest rate. I told him I had good credit scores (770 average), but in the end without telling me he had set me up with a SEVEN year loan along with giving me a high interest rate I later found out (5.79%). All the local banks were currently offering much better rates (2.99% and lower)! A month after the purchase, I was finally able find a credit union that would refinance the car at a lower rate. Two banks I had applied with had refused my application saying I had paid too much for the car, that the amount was well over what the car was worth going by their blue book standards. The finance officer at the dealership NEVER once mentioned what my monthly payment would be! My salesperson had given me a monthly payment estimate which totally imprinted on my mind! I was so happy thinking I was about to buy a great new car I could afford! I trusted the salespeople and the finance officer afterwards to the point I thought I could splurge a little by buying the extended warranty, the maintenance package and the road hazzard package without worrying! I only later found out after bringing the car home that my monthly payment was $100 more per month than the figure I was given and that my loan was a SEVEN year loan instead of a SIX year loan! The finance officer never told me neither of these things! How could I let this happen, you say?? The salespeople and finance officers at Hyundai of Bradenton are professionals at gaining people's trust then taking full advantage of them. The dealership screwed me again today nearly two months after I purchased the car. This time it was my car registration. I still hadn't received my permanent license plate! When I bought the car the finance officer told me the DMV was behind in processing their registrations and titles (Ha!) so if my temporary registration tag expired before I received my permanent plate I had go back to the dealer and they'd give me a new temp plate till my permanent one came in! I'm currently on my 2nd temporary plate now which will be expiring tomorrow. I stopped by the dealership today to get another but low and behold I had a surprise! The finance officer told me he couldn't give me another temporary plate, that two was the legal limit. He advised me to drive with the temp plate I had now and if I got a ticket because of it - he said they'd pay for the ticket themselves! I grew upset not wanting to break the law and told the finance officer I'd file a complaint to the proper authorities about the matter. I also mentioned I felt he belonged behind bars! I even spit on the window glass on my way out the door and later called my salesperson about the matter. My salesperson told me he'd call me back in 10 minutes and did so as well saying he will bring the paperwork himself the following morning to obtain a regular license plate for me. I'm from Rhode Island and recently moved to Florida. I've dealt with dealerships in RI, even worked for one as a driver and DMV runner for a while. Dealerships in RI had always gone over my monthly payment with me (at least) before I signed for a new car. They never took total advantage as Hyundai of Bradenton certainly had. The salespeople and finance officer I had dealt with at Hyundai of Bradenton had been so very professional at being friendly and helpful. I trusted them and once that happened oh my God I was led into the finance office where I got taken advantage of to the max on the purchase of this new car. Most any poor soul in need of more friends would be duped by such people at such car dealerships! I've certainly learned much from Hyundai of Bradenton. I will never again buy a new car without first hiring an attorney to read over the documents right next to me to help me so I don't get taken! Protect yourselves from Hyundai of Bradenton! Stay away from them or bring a friend or an attorney when going to buy that new car! If you go alone you won't stand a chance! When buying a new car these days everyone has to have protection, it seems, from getting taken or becoming vulnerable! Dealerships are experts at causing customers to be vulnerable! It's disgusting!!! It's like going to battle against Satan himself, the SOB! |
