Hudson Montessori School incompetent - No Support & 2 Months Tuition Taken for Nothing Hudson, Ohio |

As with another report I recently saw on this institution here from 2010, we also experienced shameful treatment from the school and its Director. The school, and most especially the middle school, is not equipped with teaching and support personnel competent to handle ANY emotional or social issues that are out of the ordinary -- or rather if your child isn't "perfect" and part of the exclusive Hudson, Ohio "clique," you will be thrown under the proverbial bus. The school's MO is to blame parents for any trouble or anxiety your child has. Students from wealthy families, donors and/or of board members are highly favored. The administration does not want to deal with any issues, so if your child has a problem, gets bullied, is anxious etc., this school will throw you under the bus and keep your tuition money. Our child had an emotional breakdown after a year of relentlessly being picked-on by a group of connected students. We were put through the ringer and essentially told to home school our child. Don't ask the teachers to watch for bullying --- they are too busy doing important curriculum development to be bothered. And if the bully is the child of a rich benefactor or board member, you will be in even more trouble. We were told it "would be best if our child just stayed home for the last two months of the school year, and maybe get counseling." Funny that for 6 years prior to the sudden middle school bully, my child had NO PROBLEMS at all. No tuition reimbursement after we were forced to home school my child for 2 months. More importantly, legal advisors informed us after the fact that the school was required by law to provide tutoring support - which they did not. Water under the bridge now, but strongly recommend staying away from the Middle School especially. This school is all about appearances, pushing problems out the door (or hiding them), and making lots of money from rich parents. It also see itself as a feeder school for Western Reserve Academy. |
