My wife and I selected Houston Kitchen Designers 14322 Northwest Freeway, Houston, TX77040 (281) 944-5716 houstonkitchendesigners.com to install granite kitchen counter tops.
Monica Marchetti visited our house and took our order and down payment. The scheduled appointment for measurements was on time. Meanwhile, my wife and I have no kitchen sink or dishwasher and also have waited at home for installers to show up on several occations.
1. We were first told by David Rivera our granite countertops would be installed Saturday, Feb 9th 2013, between 10am and 12pm. After working late on Friday evening to prepare we got a call on Saturday Feb 9th at 11:30am to let us know that install would be delayed and that it would be installed on Monday, Feb 11th 2013 between 9 and 10am.
2. Then we were told by David Rivera the install would be delayed until Monday, Feb 11th 2013 between 12 and 2pm.
3. Then we were told by David Rivera the granite would be installed Monday, Feb 11th 2013 between 5 and 7pm. It is now 6pm on Monday, Feb 11th 2013. I'll follow up on this site to let you know if they show up at all.
4. So we waited for granite installers to show up as promised by David Rivera, between 5 and 7pm on Monday, Feb 11th 2013. Installers did not show up and no phone call. I will follow up on this blog every day to document the granite countertop installation by Houston Kitchen Designers. |

| Just got a phone call at 10:50pm on Monday, Feb 11th 2013 from David Rivera that he found out installer did not show up. He mentioned that he fired the installer. He estimated new installer would show up around 11:00 tomowwow, Tuesday, Feb 12th. |

5. My wife and I called them this morning, Monday, Feb 11th 2013, to confirm the the time of the installation. Nobody would answer the phone. David Rivera called my wife back. My wife asked him to confirm the time of the installation. David replied that the installers would be there between 11am and 1pm. He assured my wife that it would happen today. My wife asked where their business was located and he said he did not know the address. (he does not know where he works) My wife also asked where the granite warehouse was and he replied that he was not allowed to reveal that information. (the location of the granite warehouse is a secret)
6. David Rivera called my wife back again and mentioned that if the installers did not show up today he would give us a full refund. He also mentioned that he was not making any money on our granite job anyhow. He mentioned that he would bring us our refund chenck personally and that we would have to sign a contract stating that we were refunded our money. (accept a check and sign a contract?)
It appears that there never were any granite countertops and installers won't be showing up. It also appears that they bid the job too low and no granite installation contractor would take the job.
There is no Houston Kitchen Designers business located at 14322 Northwest Freeway Houston, TX 77040 like it states on their web site houstonkitchendesigners.com. I did some research on the web, apparently their new addres is 30152 tomball parkway, tomball TX 77375 but I have not verified this. But don't ask them for their address, they don't remember what it is. |

Their new web site is a copy of their old one, the name and location has been changed. |

| 7. I am completely suprized that the Installers showed up at 11:30am on Tuesday, Feb 12th 2013. Mr. Jose Mary and his two crew members arrived with the granite slabs and tools ready to go. Jose and his crew are friendly, professional and work fast. Of the three pieces of granite to be installed the two smaller pieces are finished and the main island and sink are being prepared. It is now 2:30 and they are nearly finished. |
