I was surfing the web and found a rate that I wanted to use my Honors points on, but couldn't get it to work correctly. So I picked up the phone and dialed the number. The first question I asked was, if they were Hampton Inn? The reply "yes". Second question, "Can I use my honors points toward this booking? And if all goes well and you can help me, I need to book a second trip as well." Reply, "Yes, I can help you with that." We worked through my options and got pricing for each and gave him my credit card number to "hold" the room. I ask, "I have the money right now, but really do not want pay at this time until I'm for certain we are going, will this charge my card?" Reply, "No, it will NOT charge your card, you can pay for it when you arrive. Mind you all the hwile I'm being led to believe that I am talking with Hampton Inn Reservations. I knew this to be true about not pay, but wanted to double check. The last trip I had take I didn't pay until I arrived. The man on the phone was very helpful in regards to finding a hotel that wouldn't break my wallet and close enough to the even in which I will be attending, so I was very happy. Until the next day! I was so angry when I was alerted about charges on my account. I was dumbfounded at first and couldn't imagine what it could be, when I saw that it was hotels.com charging me for my rooms I was super ticked. I called the call center. BTW this was all in February. The nice young lady that I talk with is in awe about the things that I was told. She told me matter of factly that they do not work with the Hamptons and that I did book through them, not through the Hamptons as I was told, and that they DO NOT give honor points and that my card was used to hold the room because it was a low price guarantee and I had to pay for it right then and there. I said, "All of this does not make me happy and I cannot believe that you people employee such vermin." I was and am very mad. To make things right she offered me a $50.00 voucher (toward my trip I unknowingly booked for November) and refunded me 10% discount on my room that I would be using in the next week. While I wasn't happy about losing my Honors Rewards, I thought as long as they treated me right and could continue to get me good deals, it would be worth it. I did receive my $11.00 credited to my account. Well..... March came and went, and no $50.00 voucher. So I call again and explain it all over again only to be told that it was too early, and I had to call back in two more weeks. I call back in two weeks and am told the voucher was sent in February. I said, "I have not received a voucher and this run around I am getting is not making me happy!" The girl on the phone was apologetic and said, "I will cancel that voucher and issue you a new one. Allow 6-8 weeks to receive it." I said, "No I will not wait another 6 - 8 weeks I want it now because I am getting ready to book another hotel for SC and I would like to use it this weekend." She said, "well you don't get use it toward your hotel, you send it in after you travel and get your money back." Of course that didn't make me happy either. By all means, use my money.. NOOOO. Well today is May 20th and I have still not received a voucher or reimbursement. NOTHING. I am not pleased, have contacted them for the last time and will NEVER USE THEM again! The worse part of this situation, is that they lied to me and told me they were who I thought I was talking with, which in fact they were not. They are scam artists |
